^Question for all y'all, didn't Cedar Point try to have a winterfest or something like that a long time ago?

It was a feeble attempt called Christmas in the Park. They got out of it what they put into it, very little.

Here's a video from some random website that shows the one and only CP Christmas in the Park.

I vaguely remember attending, although we didn't take the carriage ride (and I regret it to this day). If I remember, it was certainly billed as an opportunity to purchase a season pass for the following season.
I have to agree with you there, Cartwright. Also they removed the main midway cam on their site.

I look at the webcams everyday. Occasionally I see people walking on the boardwalk along the beach. Employees ? Public ?

Dennis, I doubt if it is the public. It is likely employees. As a Sandusky resident we would often go to the CP Boardwalk during the months the park is closed as an alternative location to take a walk. We would enter via the Chausee and drive directly over to the Boardwalk sign near GateKeeper. Did so at least 15 times this off season until........the Governor Dewine shut down mandate. These days that area is coned off, signage directs vehicles elsewhere and warns of video surveilance. There are contractors working at CP as well as some staff.
I didn't even realize that was possible. (accessing the boardwalk during the off season)
Wonder if they'll remove the cons next Friday?
Here in Euclid, a Clevelands' eastern suburb along the lake, many shoreline property owners are mandated by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to provide public access to the shoreline. Could Cedar Point be under the same mandate, but I doubt Cedar Point would admit it.

I say we keep an eye on the big wheel (as long as they keep the camera pointing in that direction (Gatekeepers trains are already waiting to test run))... if we see the seats going back on the Big ferris wheel then its POINT ON! the City needs CP to open badly. they get taxes, and part of the ticket sales from CP.
Oh, and this whole time I thought it was a pandemic holding things up. Apparently we just need them to put Giant Wheel's cabins back on. ;)

As long as they don't put them on backwards, we'll be good to go.
