In looking at all of the windows in the second floor framing, I'm thinking the old twin section will have hotel rooms again.
Twin section? You mean off the main rotunda?
They said from the start that the renovation was going to restore rooms to those areas and where they hadn't been offered for years due to lacking bathrooms I believe. What I don't know is the history and timing of when the rotunda rooms were shut-down.
Should be gems to get if they aren't booked all season, or cost a few car payments to use.

The twin section was off the lobby, not the rotunda. It was called the twin section because of identical "twin" sections above the entrance hallway. Only the left section was open in recent years. The rooms were, I believe, even cheaper than Bon Aire. The hallways were on the second floor of the lobby, accessed from the walkway that went all the way around the second floor.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I used to stay in those rooms whenever I wanted to do the Breakers on the uber-cheap. I remember getting a room there for 49 bucks. The rooms were more like dorm rooms, but with a tiny bathroom. There was a rack with hangers to hang things up. The door had a transom.
The rooms to the left had an outside view, such as it was, but the ones on the right side were close to another part of the building and had stick-on opaque film so you couldn't see out of the windows. At all.
Those rooms were often used to house the rowdiest of school groups. Which I can personally attest to.
It's been very windy in northern Ohio. I wouldn't rule that out.

That should eliminate the bottleneck that always happened at that entrance when people were going to or coming from a catered meal.
