Lima News article

well, lima isn't THAT bad, but it sure as hell ain't the best either. But then again, I think the city life in general sucks. I'll take my one lane roads and corn fields any day.

Where are you from Millenium XL 200?

While I am from Michigan I only live 5 miles from Ohio. Toledo is out major big city and I get all Toledo TV stations. I have always said I am more Ohioan then Michigander. Anyway I work in Ohio, y girlfreind is in Ohio and I will say its is a great place but only he western side where it is flat and full of cornfields. I don't care whee you have me live as long as it's good farmland.

Only thing I know about Lima, Ohio is that is Al Snow's home town. :)

Two Things that stood out when I visited Ohio this last May.

1. Alot of Ohioans love to smoke. Cigarette stores everywhere.

2. The Ohio state troopers have to be the most strict state troopers in the nation. I am used to doing 85-90 down an expressway but was limited to 65 mph on the Ohio Turnpike. Anything over that and my butt was going to get pulled over.

Isn't 65 the speed limit?

Yeah, and your point is what? When you live in the Chicago area, the 55 mph speed limit on the expressways pretty much means nothing.

If I have to drive long distances, I dont want to be limited to 65 mph. It would take forever. I guess I am just a lead foot. :)

Don't be dissing Marion, we're kind of the third nipple of Ohio.

I used to run the Gravitron/Starship 2000 at the Marion Popcorn festival for a few years ('round 95-99), and it was one of the few places on earth where I could play "The Godz" and people would appreciate it. A bar in Marion, Ohio also had an awesome old time Bowler machine though I forget the bar's name. I also remember having spent some of my better on-the-road nights in Marion as well. Rock on Ohio!!!

After reading these I need to put my two cent's in. Ohio isn't bad to live if as long as you are not a teenager. It's nice for the young kids, and great for the over 21 crowd but in between these two groups there is really nothing to do untill you can drive, and then you just go out and drive where ever. Used to live in Findlay OH, right now I'm in Manama Bahrain. That's my two cents.
I very well nkow where Ottawa is, I am sitting 20 minutes from there right now. Ayersville, between Holgate and Defiance.

The expressway around Dayton was insane back in 2000, and they even had construction going on. It had bumper to bumper traffic at 80 mph just to keep up and 90 mph to pass...all of this while in a 45 mph construction zone. I wish the speed limit laws were raised at least 10 mph.

I've beat you all when it comes to closeness of Lima, for I live in that dumb town. Lima sucks. Its soo bad that the most popular thing to do now is hang out at the new super-wal-mart. As for the highways, I still go 80-90 mph on them, and I have yet to pulled over (I managed to travel to PKI going 80 pluss the whole time, without getting pulled over when I passed 4 patrol cars). Now, regarding the article, well it was going to suck, even before it was written. The Lima news has the worst writers in the world. They even managed to take money away from my school (which nearly got sports, band, bus drivers, and teachers taken away due to a lack of money) by printing countless one-sided articles regarding a levie (I think its spelled wrong, but its just a tax if you couldn't figure out what I was trying to spell). The only well writen articles that is run in the LIma News is ones that they get from other sources (news wires, other papers).

This remimds me of Brunswick and it's stupid skating rink. Oh yeah...and Burger King.

I've never been to Lima and from what I've heard, I don't plan on going if I don't half to.

Anyone been to Waterville? It's that little place fifteen miles south of Toledo.

JWP: I've got news for you, being a bored teenager is what happens in any town growing up.

wings51: Nothing wrong with Brunswick. Property values keep going up (whoo-hoo!), I'm three hours or less to four great amusement parks and have the conveniences of a city without living in a city.

What did you say about being a bored teenager? I'm not bored. I'm just easily distracted. ;)

Hey, what would Columbus be on Ohio's body? The belly button. It can be full of lint sometimes...;)

I own you!

Where did they learn how to make left turns in Michigan? That is the only bad thing I have to say about the place.
I don't understand Wahoo. You mean you don't make left turns in Ohio??

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

the new wal-mart isn't the only hot spot in Lima right now. You can also sit in your car along the road and watch them tear down the old Lima city school buildings (whoo hoo)

I only learned of this website through reading the Lima News article you are all referring to. I would never be caught dead on a website like this, so needless to say, I'm ashamed to be here now. But, I had to put my two cents in to let you know that you are all total geeks and freaking idiots! Cutting down my hometown of Lima is simply retarded, given that most of you have never been to Lima. Even if you have, it is no better or worse than any other city in Ohio. Are you telling me Cleveland, Cinci, Toledo are some kind of paradise? I live in North Carolina now and believe me, I spend most of my time defending the "mistake on the lake" and the many other sorry cities in Ohio. From what I've read, it's because of dorks like you that your towns/cities suck! I mean look at you....you sit around and post on some roller coaster website....that makes YOU the armpit of Ohio more than Lima ever could be. By the way, like I said before, I regret that I've entered this level of dorkhood by posting to this site, so I'm going to leave for good now...don't bother trying to reply to my post....I won't ever be here again to read it.
