I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet after all the outrage last year, but the shot glass size "Kinzel Kups" for water at the food stands seem to be gone. I've gotten mostly regular size cups for water lately, and the little plastic shot glass are no longer visible at any of the food stands. Great job CP in updating your policy!
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
We have experienced mostly small cups this season with the occasional renegade who would give us regular-sized cups. Hopefully they had indeed made the change official.
"Thank the Phoenicians!"
LOL.
Thanks Pete for reminding me.
The last time I was there I was surprise to be given a decent size of cup for water plus no attitude at when I asked for one either. Me response to her when I seen the size was that they are doing away with the "shot o' water" cups. But you may still run into a few places that still are trying to run out their stock.
It's been about 50/50 for me getting a small one. I think they are using them up until they are gone because I've seen less and less of them as the summer goes on!
The pretzel stand by scrambler, I have gotten medium sized and large cups. Other areas I have gotton the small cups. I don't have a conclusion on what they are doing, but because I got a huge cup yesterday, with ice too. I thought they are just using up what they have in stock..
GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.
I've only asked once, and got a reasonably sized cup.
I still think they should raise the gate a few bucks and go Holiday World style. Maybe food stands would be faster too if drinks were "free" and self-serve.

The Dragon Inn between Iron Dragon and Mantis gave me 2 small and 1 large cup when I ordered 3 waters, so not sure what that means lol
It's the first clue for the 2014 attraction.
I hadn't even thought about that angle, Jeff. Besides the perception of "wow what a great deal", making drinks self-serve would have to speed up service dramatically.
Who's going to pump the keg? :)
Promoter of fog.

I think they'd have to raise it a whole lot more than a few bucks. I'm betting CP makes a ton of money from soda sales.
One could also argue that free soda has an impact on food sales, for a couple reasons. First, as I have discovered at HW, I buy less food when I am constantly bloated all day from consuming free soda. And secondly, if soda and food are not served by waiting in the same line, how many people who are primarily thirsty, but who also might have bought a snack, will just skip the food line and settle for a beverage alone?
It would be very interesting (to me) to see a study done on consumer behaviors, in both scenarios.
The park's website is advertising a "Ride & Refresh" deal - $46.99 park admission plus all-you-can-drink Pepsi.
^ That's some expensive soda.
Admission to the park is only $25 right now I think. So $26.99 for all you can drink pepsi???
I've gotten the large cups every time. They have always put ice in my cups when I've asked and I asked for ice in my water by the WindSeeker food stands and they said you can't. I never knew you weren't allowed ice in the cups. Is that new or has anyone else experienced that?
Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!
^^Where is there $25 admission? Regular price is $44.99. Weekday saver is $36.99. Michigan saver admission is $31.99. And students can save $20 with proper ID. I've been doing my research the last 20 minutes. Tomorrow will be the first time since 2003 that I enter the park without a season pass so I'm doing my best to pay the least amount I can.
**Has anyone used the Michigan promo? Do they check for Michigan ID when you enter the gate?
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I'm pretty sure they do, just like Disney does for Florida residents.
Favorite Wood: 1. Balder (Liseberg), 2. Boulder Dash (Lake Compounce), 3. Voyage (Holiday World), 4. Phoenix (Knoebels) 5. The Beast (Kings Island)
FavoriteSteel:1.Expedition GeForce (Holiday Park) 2. Rita (Alton Towers) 3.Magnum XL-200 (CP) 4. Nemisis (Alton Towers) 5. X (SFMM)
Pretty sure because you've witnessed it? Or pretty sure solely based of the Disney experience? Because on the CP tickets site it just says "Valid for one admission any one day between August 20-September 3, 2012. Valid for anyone between the ages of 3-61 who is 48" tall or taller in shoes." it mentions nothing about showing ID or anything of that nature.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I should also add that my sister was at the park Friday and was ready for pay full price when the ticket worker asked if she was a student. She is a student but didn't have her ID on her so the worker just asked where she went to school and what program she was in. I'm guessing experiences may vary depending on the employee at the booth.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I thought it was $25 for weekdays, but maybe that was for Kings Island where I was a few days ago. I'm not sure. Either way, $46.99 is a lot to pay for "free soda" considering much cheaper alternatives for tickets that are currently out there..
At Kings Island, they still use small cups (probably 6.75oz). I must be hitting it unlucky at CP this year, because I have been getting those plastic cups.
