I assumeing there will be a LOT of work to clean up that area to make it look nicer it needs it a lot. Not just that park of the beach but also all around DT has collected a lot of trash. the Employee area behind the games will have to be redone too.. it actually wouldent surprise me to see that whole games area includeing Johnny Rockets redone.

I would have to think CP would consider some improvements in the barriers. ;)
That would be nice, but if they can't plan out the space in front of the Luminosity stage correctly the first time, what chance do we have for nicer fences?
They did remove the chain link fence by WT. We walked over there once and went up to DT. I was really neat :)
As for late night families, I see many families even with little 4 year olds running around the park wide awake. They still are over at the snoopy areas alot riding everything and full of energy. I guess the candy and sugar from those snow cones keeps them pumped :)
I would have to agree. I always saw large numbers of families taking in the summer spectacular. I would know this because of the hard time I always had going from Millennium Force to Top Thrill Dragster for my last rides of the night.

You must be assuming that the park resorts are filled to the brim with 20 something bachelors and bachelorettes. Only nerd parents don't keep their kids in the park until it closes. How un-fun is that? I would actually bet that most families stick around. Not all, but most.
Count me in with the nerd parent group. When my kids ask to leave the park at 6:00 because they are exhausted then we leave the park. We learned the hard way that when they are done they are done. May not be fun (for me and the wife) but pushing the kids to keep going after they are wiped out is even less fun.
Granted I am not spending the night at the resort or at any of the nearby hotels. I lose that perspective since we very rarely spend the night.
I actually enjoyed DT. Of course, the room where you stand in line was a bit unpleasant, but I'd say that the ride itself was pretty fun for a short wait time. I suppose the reason why I'm attached to the ride is similar to what another person said in a different topic. It was a stepping stone for me when I first came to Cedar Point, the other being the Iron Dragon. That same day, I was riding on the Millennium Force. I mean, there are kids who go to Cedar Point too, but you can't expect them to go straight on the Raptor or Mantis after they've "graduated" from the Kiddie Kingdom, can you?
Of course, I agree that it is a bit nasty inside. The least they can do is just touch up the inside a bit more...it can't cost THAT much to repaint the walls and add some air fresheners, right?

So does anyone know if there are any pics of the full theming of disaster Transport?
Maybe if you keep asking you'll get a different answer.

You'd be surprised how much it would cost to paint just one of those large walls. Of course I can't give an exact figure but it sure isn't a $1000 fix up. As for air fresheners, you would probably have to be kicking out A LOT of scent to make those huge rooms smell better. And it probably wouldn't last long so there's an unnecessarily large amount of scent you would have to spend tons of cash on. All in all, it's just not a viable or smart route.
The only kind of air freshener that would help DT would be a wide open space next to a beach. Which is what I think they're going for. ;)

Could just spray some of that new car smell all over the place, but they wouldn't be fooling anyone. ;)
Disaster Transport used to be the most awesome ride. It had almost that Disney-like quality with the air conditioned enclosure, lots of lighting (and not the hideous neon/black-lit theme they tried to use to patch things up.) I am 33 years old, when I first went on this ride when I was 14, it was clean, exciting, and my best memory at Cedar Point.
Looks like you got your wish OP! DT will be gone next year if the rumor of the new B&M coaster hold true.
I hope there is a building for a haunted house underneath it. The busiest time of year is halloweekends. I'll miss the pissing babies the most. Maybe they can recycle them.
Happy Jack's can easily be moved somewhere else in the park. Just because DT is getting removed doesn't mean HJ has to be completely gone too. I don't think they'll get rid of it since it's not very old and is one of the best Halloweekends haunted houses. I'll be shocked if it doesn't come back in some shape or form in another building.
