Jr gemini derails. (also: Maverick restraint design)

Why is this argument even taking place? Everyone is not going to always agree, but as long as they state their disagreement in a nice, friendly manner there shouldn't be a problem.

And surprisingly, I had no issues during the two dives on the second half of the ride. The first two changes in direction during the first half were the worst for me. Then again, I was so blown away by the first drop I wasn't properly anticipating them.

Thrills Around the Corner!

I think that a lot of the animosity that gets generated on this site -- and most other web boards for that matter -- is caused by the invisibility of the participants. Because posting tends to emulate ordinary verbal speech, we write as if we're talking. Smileys and winkies help a little bit to convey humor and sarcasm, but there is still so much non-verbal communication that gets lost in translation. Probably 90% or more of the arguments that get started would be avoided if we could simply see the shrugged shoulders, the raised eyebrows, the sly cock of the head, that the writer commits when he types the post but which never makes it through the series of tubes to the readers. Same goes for intonation, pitch, inflection of speech.

There are real issues between regular posters to be sure, and the debates over Cedar Points and its many attractions are grounded in the real world. But so many times, this flaw in the communication system allows minor misunderstandings to flare up into big fights, even becoming ongoing feuds that most likely would never have gotten started had the participants just been sitting in the same room together. Put it this way: how many Pointbuzzers that attended the gathering on Opening Day got into fisticuffs with each other? I wasn't there, so it's not entirely a rhetorical question, but I bet I know the answer.

On next week's episode of Mike Solves Everything, we reveal how to tackle global warming with some VERY big ice cubes. ;)

^WTHeck! I'm laughing as much as usual just because you took me so off guard in the seriousness/reflective quality of your post Mike! Who are you & what have you done with Ensign Smith? ;) I agree with everything but that of the big ice cubes. Doesn't that cause the freeze like in "Day After Tomorrow"? Oh... & I did try to tackle Adam & give him some money at the gathering on OD. Does that count? :)

About the ride shifts; I guess getting used to the ride & knowing when to pull my head forward should do the trick. I guess you need to do alot of properly anticipating the twists. I wish they could just change it though, so I could just enjoy the ride w/o thinking to much about it.

Peace Love Hope

Is it open yet, Jr Gemini that is?

It was open last Sunday. I would assume it is still open.

Thrills Around the Corner!

^^^ Guess I like to catch people by surprise once in a while. Either that or I'm bipolar. Or both. Anyway, I have no free will in the matter. It's all just the voices in my head telling me what to do. ;)

P.S. It only counts if Adam didn't *like* being tackled. :)

^ That's the first chuckle I've had in this thread in a long time. Thanks, John. :)

There's just no use trying to deal with a comeback like that. All you can do is just lie down and try to die gracefully. ;)

Trekkies are so much fun. (Even more so when you grow up watching TNG, DS9 and Voyager).

If Mr. Scott were here, he'd give you some gentle comeuppance. And then send you to Lighthouse Point. ;)

Hey, I'm all for going to LHP. I haven't been to the point yet this summer, so its looking like its going to be a double weekender this fall, probably first or second halloweekend and then closing weekend.

Remember when I said a lot of the crap on here chases away people like Dave who have meaningful contributions?

Yeah. One of those times.
