Hi!,
My name is Ryan Mahaffey and I just thought I'd "start the ball rolling" to see what alums are up to in the off season or in "the real world".
I am in my 5th year as a retail clerk at J. Crew at Westfield ShoppingTowne at Franklin Park in Toledo and Dialect Coach for the Rossford High School Theater Department.

I FINALLY got an off-season job. About time, too...I've got no money.

I get to supervise people and fix the innurnets for a boatload of money and lots of vacation time per year. Do I win something?
Ben, go to /. where you belong. ;)

I am a full time student at Indiana Wesleyan, though I guess you could consider our pep band a job since we get paid for it. $20 a game isn't bad at all. If you really want to, you could also consider jazz combo a night job, as sometimes we get paid for that as well.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
I don't post on here a lot, but my name is Tom. I was a ride op in 2005 and 2006. While I was trained at many, many locations (like almost everyone tends to be who works in rides ) I worked primarily at Raptor in 05, and Raptor/Millennium is 06.
Anyway, since ending my days at Cedar Point, I have been finishing my degree. Last summer I was a Recreation Intern at the Hilton Grand Vacations Club property in Orlando, FL. Next semster I will be doing another internship at the St. Regis Resort in Aspen, CO. Once that is over, I'll be looking for a "real job" in hospitality.
Cedar Point was a lot of fun, and I wish I could return for another season. Who knows -- maybe someday, haha.

I'm working full time for a tier 3 supplier of the big 3. I also work part time on the weekends at McDonald's. By the way, don't bash McDonald's employees, cuz most of us have a real job and are working at McDonald's to help pay the bills. We work our butts off!

Not a damn thing. I had so much saved up I am not in that much of a hurry to find a new job plus I really want to return this summer for some reason I can't seem to figure out. I also want to get my sister to join me since she will turn 18 in 8 days so it would be cool if we both did it since I only see her once a year as it is now.

At least you have two more jobs than most people in Michigan! :)
Ya...no kidding! The job market here sucks and all my friends who don't have job are saying I should give up one of my jobs so they can have a job. Ya, right! In Michigan, it's survival of the fittest right now. But the way the automotive industry is going, I'm lucky to have Mickey D's to fall back on.

I've always wanted a job at the "Industrial Nut Corp." there outside Sandusky. We always take time to laugh at the sign when we're on our way to the park. One year we took pictures, which can't be posted here.
hehehe...you said "industrial nut", Beavis. Hehehehe.
Yes, I have a few of those classic pics too where onlookers covered tehir children's eyes and glared at me and my partners in crime with looks of shame. Ah well.
If any '94-'97 alums are around the Toledo area...stop by the mall to visit me! I'd love to see you over the holidays! Look me up at J. Crew at Westfield Shoppingtowne- Franklin Park.

I frequent the point about a dozen or so times a year and enjoy visiting foreign parks in Europe when I'm there. *** Edited 12/13/2007 8:06:18 PM UTC by Jay McKinney***
You should get yourself to Holiday Park and Europa Park if you're ever in Germany, get yourself on Expedition GeForce and SiverStar, they're both great coasters. Both by Intamin, and they both smack of MF, but they're good rides either way.
