I know there is a website for this purpose but I was just wondering what everyone's job assignments were for this summer. I am on both Cedar Fantastic Day too. So for those of you who don't use the other websites and use this one where will you be working this summer?
My name's Ray and I'll be working at Thunder Canyon this summer! I'm excited for the summer already. I know it is going to be alot of hard work but I want to have fun too. If you have any suggestions for a fellow first seasoner let me know!

Good luck to both of you this summer. I think both of those rides would be alot of fun to work and I'm sure both of you will have a great time.
I'm sure you'll find some interesting things in the mornings on Thunder Canyon during trough walks, and your hands are going to smell like fish all summer, but it isn't all bad. At least you don't have to open until 11:00, so you'll get some extra sleep.
As for Wicked Twister, I think that would be one of my top choices if I were in rides. There is nothing better than a nice breeze and a view of the beach during the summer. Between wind-related down time and reliability, I'm sure you'll get to work plenty of other rides during the summer too.

Thunder Canyon is sweet. I worked there for a week last year and it was graet. My advice to you is make sure you use sun screen. You are going to burn real bad being on that platform. Webber is your TL so you should enjoy TC even more.

I can't figure out why Cedar Point doesn't just open in stages like some of the Disney parks or BGW. Open Raptor, Blue Streak, maXair and Demon Drop at 9:00 for Joe Cool, then open back to Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster at 10:00, then Frontier Trail, Magnum, Camp Snoopy, Gemini, Frontier Town, etc. at 11:00. No one is ever back in that area in the morning anyway. Magnum and Mean Streak run with 4-6 riders per train and Gemini is about the same running one side only.
I don't see how they expect Skyhawk to be a big draw for Joe Cool, especially after opening weekend. It's just too far back in the park. maXair ran more than half empty last year and it was in the front of the park. What is Skyhawk going to be like in the back of the park. With the exception of a few families that get distracted by Skyhawk when they are coming from the resort/Soak City gate to Millennium Force via Frontier Trail, I don't think anyone is going to make it that far back in the park before 10:00-10:30 at the earliest, and I don't think lines will really form until closer to 11:00.

Yeah, and hopefully some of the families with kids will abandon maXair for Skyhawk meaning shorter wait times. :)

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Hey what's going on everyone? I will be on the raptor crew this season, it will be my first season with CP. I process in on may 11th, i am pumped for the season to start.
Hey kirkaf2002....who are you? I'm pumped for the season to start. I'm ATL of Raptor this season and the summer couldn't come fast enough!

Alright, I see what you are saying but it isn't true. The enterance back by Magnum opens up for the Hotel Breakers guests when Joe Cool starts. Actually, it opens up that time everyday for the Hotel Breaker guests. Milliennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster open up everyday at that time.
Also, I worked at Camp Snoopy this past summer and as I was walking into work everyday at 9:20 in the morning, I had at least 4 guests a week asking me when did the rides in the back of the park open and why weren't they opening when all the larger rides were. I would of course explain the system but all the same, there were still guests waiting.
Just look at the way WDW or BGW handles opening of their parks.
Busch Gardens opens certain sections of the park late, and both the Magic Kingdom and Epcot open in stages and it works very well for those parks. They basically increase the capacity of the park and the number of rides open as the park gets busier. By opening the rides in stages, it helps maximize efficiency for the park and actually helps to spread people out as the morning goes on. People who come in for Joe Cool will be moving to the back of the park after they have had the chance to ride the rides in the front and the new guests coming in will presumably start at the front of the park and work their way back. I've never really heard any complaints about the way WDW handles it, and I think it could work very well for CP as well.
If the park opens in stages, they can still use the resort gate, or they could just use the beach gate instead until Soak City opens. Epcot has 5 resorts that use the International Gateway entrance and that entrance doesn't open until 11:00, even when the park opens as early as 8:00 for Extra Magic Hour.
I've been to WDW 13 times and I personally prefer the way they open in stages rather than opening the whole park at once. It allows you to extend the feeling that the park has just opened a little longer as you experience less lines in the areas that have just opened. For example, you could be on the first train of the day for Raptor at 9:00, the first train for Millennium at 10:00, and the first train for Magnum or Gemini at 11:00.
Families will have Kiddy Kingdom and Peanuts Playground open at 10:00 to enjoy, followed by Gemini Children's Area and Camp Snoopy at 11:00.
I've done it at Disney where I hit Space Mountain at 8:00, then go for something like Pirates or Jungle Cruise at 9:00, and back to Splash Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain at 11:00, and I can be one of the first riders of the day on all three rides instead of just one if the whole park opened at once.
Not only does the staggered opening make the park more enjoyable for me because you get to enjoy shorter lines on more rides throughout the morning, but it saves Disney the hourly wages for a few hundred employees who work in the other areas of the park. If it takes 500 employees to operate those sections of the park, just by delaying the opening by one hour for those sections, the park would save more than $25,000 a week or more than $1.3 million a year in the case of a Disney park. Cedar Point's savings would be slightly lower because of the shorter operating season, but the savings would still be substantial enough that money could be spent elsewhere in the park.

You mean people won't make it to a part of the park until the park actually opens to the GP? Who woulda thought. Having SkyHawk as a bonus ride will draw some JC/Resort people back there sooner, thinning out the crowds around the rest of the park early in the morning.
