It's so nice out shouldn't Cedar Point be open today?

As if you know that ALL the employees have to drive that far? I didn't think so.

I'm sure there's enough employees locally that they could use to open PART OF THE PARK, like I already said TWICE.

Out of the many hundreds of employees I encountered, I only noticed one with a sandusky nametag that wasn't either too young to work on a coaster or too old to want to.

You didn't look very hard. There's quite a few, but probably not enough to staff the entire park.

I think we all understand that there aren't enough for the entire park, but Loopy has stated several times that his idea was for part of the park to be open, like Hershey does for their event.

It would be interesting to know how many employees they could convince to work for an extra weekend or two.

The reason they do not open until May is becuase it usually will snow a couple times in April..at least in May you know its not going to snow pretty much. It will be 63 one day..or even like it is 70 today..but in like a week it is possible it could be 50 and rainy..that wouldnt be good would it. Plus in May its almost summer..they wouldnt pull in to much buisness in April trust me..thats why theyve never tried it...probably weather..not much money being pulled in. Like its not like were KI and by cincinatti where it gets warmer, faster there. Ya know?

It's been so nice these past couple of weeks outside, makes me wish they were open right now, above 70 degrees here in Michigan and no rain. I just hope it stays like this for opening day.

Today I was saying that to my friend myself. How I wanted to go...

Super nice day here in Michigan again.

I love this time of the year, you just cant beat how great a feeling it is to walk out your front door and not have the temperature change at all.

I should say it is quite chilly by the beach still heh.

How quickly we forget! Hmm...how many hours did we all spend shoveling our driveways this week just one year ago? The weather is too unpredictable this time of the year.

Jason

Why do they call it common sense, when it's so infrequently used?

True.. but that was then, this is now :)

Who shovels their driveway in April? Its going to melt in a few days anyway.

Well, when it's 10 inches and 25 degrees out and you need to go somewhere, you shovel.

That is what 4 wheel drive is for.

Ahh, so 4-wheel drive is for those 3 instances a year where real-wheel drive would fail?

^ - well, kinda. When I had a 4WD Jeep, it was pulled, uncontrollably, toward every trail and mudhole it could find.

And I get pissed at those soccermom's in SUV's who tip-toe around a small pot hole. If you are going to neglect your SUV by not giving it a romp in the mud, you might as well sell it to someone who cares about it.

Oh, I agree. When I lived in the UP, you can bet my Jeeps, a Cherokee and a Liberty, both had their fair share of mud baths.

But the simple fact of the matter is that a very small percentage of urban 4x4 owners use that feature, and when they do, they seem to think it also enhances their braking ability in icy conditions. It doesn't.

JuggaLotus's avatar

It does if you can keep at least 2 of the wheels off-ice. Of course, if all 4 wheels are on ice, it doesn't matter what kind of system you have (short of spiked tires), you are sliding, and you are sliding far.

Walking outside in the early morning these past few days reminds me of walking to work at the park every day. Then I always feel all down knowing that I won't be there this summer :(
