Maybe if you show up with a BB gun and tell them you are Clark Griswold they will open it for you.
............
Anyways, I heard this year is supposed to be a little cooler because of El Nino. Hopefully the summer will be a little more forgiving this year.
I looked on the web cams today and there wasn't anything going on in the park, so even if I showed up with a B.B gun there might not be anyone there to even turn the rides on. And if I am in the coaster who's going to do that?
I can't train a monkey that quick guys.
La nina and el nino are el crapo. In Florida we've been told for the past two years to expect the worst in terms of hurricanes due to one or the other. In those two years we have had 1 hurricane hit the US. It was a category 1.
Not that I'm upset we haven't been hit. But the forecasting is pointless.

I think this is a really interesting subject and I'm glad you brought it up. With parks like Six Flags Great Adventure opening up this weekend I've often asked myself why CP doesn't open sooner. Honestly I think it is just the weather in Ohio can still be too dicey this time of the year. Even in May there can be some frigid weekends. So while I agree with you, that on these nice warm weekends I wish CP opened earlier, but I just don't think its wise considering how quickly the weather can, and probably will, cool down.

Has a lot to do with employment which is mainly made up of college students. The weather isn't always that reliable this time of year either.

Don't say that! We don't want the weather to cool down. Don't jinx this sweet weather we've been having lately. Please!
It's just all part of Spring in the Midwest. It'll get humid and hot in no time. :)

I was leaving a bowling tournament at Cedar Lanes today and decided to ride back to the tollbooths. I flipped the place off, cussed at it, turned around and drove home. I'm just still upset about Geauga Lake. It was pretty stupid, but I feel better. Just me pouting.
I was actually thinking that today would have been a great day to take a 1/2 hour drive and hang out for a couple of hours at Geauga La... Oh, wait. Oops.
Candidly, the close proximity of something to do was really nice.

Yeah, because cussing and flipping off will really make a difference. They didn't close the park just to make you mad. It was a business decision. Move on, or step to the side.

Um... get over it already? I was upset too at one point but there's really nothing we can do about it. I just hope you got to visit recently, the last time I was at GL was when it was still SFWOA in 2001.

Give the park staff a break...the off season continues to get shorter and Im sure there is barely enough time to get all of the off season maintenance done as it is. I hear they start the winter maintenance within hours of the park shutting down in the fall and dont complete it until the final hours before the park opens. Throw in very unpredictable weather in Northern Ohio and why open any earlier? Sure, its nice this weekend, but its only supposed to be in the 40's with rain next weekend.
Cedar Point has their act together...if there was money to be made by opening earlier, don't you think they would do that? They track attendance trends and make sound (most of the time) business decisions based on their data. I personally think they are on the right track extending their fall season. Have you seen the attendance lately in the fall? It sure blows the early spring numbers away.

Who ran the rides for the Griswolds and Gus Lasky? There was nobody there either!

Day 168 since we hit 70 here in Lansing..... :(
Look on the bright side, that's fewer days than the last time the U of M beat Jim Tressel. ;)

Yeah, that really ruined the realism of the film for me. ;)
Anyway, how could they even run the rides when they were down for maintenance and cleaning? The moose out front should have told them.
