Is shoot the rapids basically the same ride as Snake River Falls?

In the shoot today did they still have the back row closed?

Yes, the back row was closed for the shoot as well!

Does anybody else think that will look weird in the commercial?

Let's Get Weird.

I don't think the back row will ever open up. I mean they already have a sign plastered on the seats saying it won't be open.

That's got to hurt the capacity of the ride.

I wonder if they are going to have to redo the boats again, and the ones they are using now are just temporary? (insert intamin joke here) I can't think that they will always keep the back row closed.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

How ironic. Maybe they should do the opposite of Dragster and remove the seats to put in theming.

Yeah, I can't imagine them not retrofitting the retrofitted boats to fix the balancing issues. I mean, we're talking about a reduction in capacity of 20% from the loss of the back row alone. Adding in that the ride seems to be at least twice as long, and you're looking at a ride with a far lower capacity than Intamin originally claimed.

I'd love to see the financials regarding this ride. As in, what penalties Intamin has incurred (if any), the cost of the re-work and so on.

Brandon

I'm not convinced that removing the back row would fix the problem. Making the boat any shorter could cause other problems, such as the possibility of the boat jack-knifing in the trough.

I think the suggestion is simply to remove the seats, not shorten the boats themselves.

Oh...lol...my bad.

It's kinda funny, though, cause yesterday during the shoot, whenever I'd mention something about a ride, someone else would always say that it wasn't true. Like I swear I remembered being part of a walk down on MF back in 2004. Then someone told me they don't do walkdowns on MF. They only have the "bucket elevator". (Must have been magnum I was thinking of)

That's why I love pointbuzz so much. I learn a lot of things I didn't know. Thanks to everyone for keeping me in line :-)
