If you follow the rules and make it fun, then it will be a great place to work. But don't think it's a place that you'll easily be able to get away with things... especially the way things are going these days...

The Beach "technically" closes at Midnight if I remember right. CPPD will come out there if you are there late at night... This applies to both employees and Breakers guests.... unfortunately the Employee Beach is no longer in existance as there is now a little Impulse Coaster we like to call Wicked Twister

Just instead of sand you get nice soft cement....
To answer the original questions... Yes there are parties at CP, and of course there is that little place called Louies... Just trust me... take it easy... My summers at CP took a toll on my wallet, my personal health, and one shot on my criminal record...
Underage Drinking is Illegal... Even if its by 2 days...

We never really had parties, ussually just pregaming before Louies. I would recomend this. I pretty much blew every dime I made this summer on alchohol at that place. Another tip, if your ever drinking in gold, be really quiet. The walls are paper thin and most of the girls that live there moved there because its not as crazy as commons. All it takes is one noise complaint to get arrested, at least thats all it did for me.
By the way, don't try to bring a girl back to the snoopy bounce at night, theres police everywhere in the park, its really easy to get caught.
Again... People normally dont all-out "party" in the dorms... Cops walk the halls, and if more than the "alotted" amount of alcohol is found in your room, you will be in trouble... Most people silently pre-game in the dorms, and then make their way to Louies for hours of shoulder to shoulder shenanigans... And those deathly 32oz Styrofoam cups..... and who can forget the pristine bathrooms??

Seriously, partying (by definition) in the dorms isn't exactly that common. There are cops everywhere. And if you apply for this job thinking that whenever you're off the clock it's going to be party time, you are sorely mistaken. They take underage drinking at Cedar Point VERY seriously, to the point that you could potentially lose your job if caught. My suggestion would be to only apply for this job if you're actually interested in the job itself, not what kind of things you can do after hours. *** Edited 4/19/2006 7:29:04 PM UTC by SRFMatt05***

As a former Housing Supervisor, I must add my 2 cents for what its worth.
Underage drinking is illegal and you will be terminated if caught drinking on Cedar Point property. No ifs, ands or buts about it. Same goes obviously for drug use or similar illegal activity.
However, worrying about job performance aside...the majority of the employees "party" at night. You have many options including the requisite Louie's, Club X, Old Dutch, etc. I always advised people to just "try new things to meet new people and make new friends...think outside of the box" as it were.
Also for a "non bar" setting, the ESD (Employee Services Department) plans several great events on a nightly basis including volleyball, movie nights, ride nights and the annual "Big Bash".
If neither of those options interest you (and why wouldnt they?), you could always head out of town to experience nightlife in a larger city like Cleveland or Toledo.
Be sensible, make wise decisions and get "some" sleep before your early morning shift and you will have a memorable summer!!!

Uh, slept, maybe? I wasn't exactly on a partying crew, number one, since some of us were on-point, others off-point, and others commuted. And there were some nights where we "partied" but I definitely didn't do anything that would have put my job at risk, I enjoyed it too much. Face it, coming to work hung over or stoned, no matter what career path you're in, is a stupid idea. However, as a ride operator at Cedar Point when you literally have people's lives in your hands, it's an INCREDIBLY stupid idea.
