This has been discussed at length both here and on Coaster Buzz. IMHO Intamin has burned it's bridges with Cedar Fair. Whatever the deal was with the old administration is gone. There is a new guard in charge now with a different view of what the corporation wants and needs. It's not problematic attractions that haven't been prototyped before being delivered (goes for Mondial too in that regard).

If MF was traditional, it would be like Levi...or Fury
Those two coasters are more than a decade newer than MF. Neither Leviathan nor Fury 325 could have been built in the late 90s because of the differences in technology back then. I'm almost certain of that.
On the contrary, B&M recently went away with their pre-drops and they're now doing their first launched coaster. This, combined withe the fact that their also doing giga coasters, means that CF could be running out of reasons to use Intamin (at least for now--who knows?). The reason I bring up B&M is because CF seems to be using them as the "go-to" firm in these recent years.

I think we are all missing a very interesting fact here. Maverick, MF & TTD were all designed by Werner Stengel. Intamin simple manufactured his desgins. Werner also designed Son of Beast at Kings Island - we all saw how well that worked...
Wrong. Stengel does layout and design, including Raptor, and most of the B&M's made around the same time. The engineering is all Intamin. Son of Beast was a failure for many reasons, not the least of which is that there were at least a half-dozen companies involved in the engineering on that one, and clearly none of them talked to each other.

It is important to note that Ing.-Büro Stengel GmbH (Stengel Engineering) only provides the services bought by the customer (ride manufacturer). We will probably never know if Intamin used only some of, or all of, Stengel's services.
It is interesting to note which rides Stengel Engineering features on their website.
Looks like Intamin is back in North America building the Polercoaster in Orlando near the Orlando Eye Ferris Wheel.
I was in Orlando for two weeks over the period when the Orlando Eye finally opened, and it is absolutely insane how much local news coverage that ferris wheel gets.
I would imagine that the worlds tallest coaster coming to Orlando will be massive new coverage.
New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus
Yeah, it will be massive news coverage when it opens weeks late and is down 50% of the time.

I'm looking forward to it because in my circle of friends, there is a large overlap between the 'hate the polercoaster concept' group and the 'thinks a portajohn with an Intamin label on it is a better ride than anything B&M will ever make' group...
Watching them try to figure out which side of this one to come down on will be great...
B&M seems like more of a graceful, flowing coaster. Intamin has always seemed jolting and thrilling, which is what I love in a coaster. I personally think if Intamin doesn't fail with the 'Polercoaster' then I saw Cedar Fair gives them a few more chances.
There's still lots of doubts over at CoasterBuzz that this ride is even happening.

The Orlando Eye Ferris Wheel opening was delayed almost a full year, and Intamin didn't build that.
And the media and general public seemed fine with the delay in the opening. Maybe they are more mature about building delays with a full year round operating schedule and do not obsess over set goal dates for projects.
New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus
The parent company of the I-Drive complex is investing $400 million into just a hotel and mall on the property, This Polercoaster is happening... no matter what some coaster enthusiasts with a keyboard think.

50 delays... (see Orlando Eye)
almost two years from original target date.

No matter what happens delay wise or not, I wish this project the best and also Intamin as well. Maybe upper management has learned from prior mistakes and attitude.
And at least someone is pushing the envelope on coaster construction, and maybe it will spur us into the next generations of coasters. Hopefully, not all like Polercoasters, as the design is kind of a one trick pony to me.

Not even sure what you're arguing. Because Orlando Eye, Intamin has a better track record?

I guess 2 1/2 years isn't enough to build a coaster and work out the flukes.
1999: First visit
Halloweekends- Harvest Fear, Tombstone Terror-Tory
Ride Operations- Professor Delbert’s Frontier Fling
I'm not trying to argue anyone has a better track record. I was pointing out that there was delays on another project at the same site, and the Orlando media and general public seemed fine with it and it was highly celebrated when it opened. as I assume this will be too.
And again, I wish them the best in this endeavor. and hope it goes as smooth as possible.

50 delays, and of course with the coaster being finished (if it ever does get finished or started for that matter) I guarantee it wont be running well. Wicked Twister/Maverick never run well when I went this season (7 times already) and I've been stuck on Maverick because that breaks down for hours at a time and as well as Wicked Twister's LIM launch and breaks, they lock up and have to be manually unlocked with a ladder.
So With my experience with Intamin, the ride will be great, but the ride itself won't be running most of the time.
