Iron Dragon

This is one of my favorite rides at the park. I just love it. I liked it a lot more before they cut down all the trees, but still a fun ride. The first drop gets my stomach more than some of the bigger coasters. Always wondered why.

Yes Mantis and Wildcat have purple supports, but the track for Mantis is red though. What I was referring to was that Cedar Points next coaster should have Purple Track with Sandstone supports. I think that would be pretty neat.

Black supports-chrome track. I know. It'd be too much money. But, wouldn't it look rad? Picture it.

I liked the older colours on ID. It went more with the "hey look im a dark evil dragon" then the brighter colours. The need a "darker" ride. To much bright in there. Yeah I know it says happy and have a great time, but a "evil" theme would be pretty cool. (i know im demeted.)

And it was better when you swung "wildly" through the trees.

You'd think they'd be able to rig up some hydrolic lap bars on that ride. But seeing the track and all the mechanics and such are above you, maybe they want you to keep your arms down even if it is a "calmer" ride.

"Ive got the need, the need for speed!"

Even though the Ride has lost the trees which we all miss, I think Iron Dragon Is a good Ride and on a good day it still brings in a good wait. Everyone that I go with thinks its corney, but I like the ride. It still has nice twisting turns and the first drop is amazing. I have on-ride photo from front seat that I took in 2003. The ending is really awesome as well. Before we had Millennium Force, Top Thrill Dragster, and Wicked Twister, Iron Dragon would pack a good line. I think it's a fun relaxing ride to ride especially after riding something like Top Thrill Dragster.

i like iron dragon its a fun ride with the sharp turns. Its a nice started ride for anyone who starting to ride roller coasters.

When I was a kid I started out on Iron Dragon, it was one of my first major coasters. I used to drag my dad on Iron Dragon so many times.

Good ride. Its a nice break in the day from riding the big coasters. It also serves another good purpose. Not all people who visit Cedar Point want to start right out on ttd. Its a good coaster for people who are not full out adrenaline(sp) seekers. They can build there way up til they reach mf and ttd.

cedar point loves red, yellow, and blue. the three primary colors.

Yeah they sure do like those colors, but those arent the 3 primary colors.

The 3 primary colors are: Red, Green, Blue

The 4 color process colors are: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black

Just an FYI.

The three primary are red, yellow and blue.
You get Green by mixing Yellow and Blue. You get orange by mixing Red and Yellow and you get Purple by mixing Red and Blue. It's all on the color wheel we learned back in 3rd grade art class.

Red, Yellow, and Green are additive primaries, used when colors are produced with light, for example on television or computer monitors.

Psychological primaries are still red yellow and blue. If you want to make green paint, you still mix blue and yellow. If you are sitting with red, blue, and green paint in front of you, you're going to have a hard time making yellow paint ;).

This is getting off topic, but can't you mix green and blue to get yellow?

You mix green and blue to get a bluer green. It will never result in yellow.

Top Hat, why don't you give it a try?

What are we talking about here?

Don't get me wrong I love Cedar Point but I really do not like riding roller coasters. I think its because my Dad used to drag me on them by my hair (child abuse maybe). But I love Iron Dragon. I am not scared I am securely in my seat and it still has a thrill that I love. But there is never a line longer than 15-30 minutes for this ride. More people should try this.

I like how you stated that last sentence Amanda. You know what on a busy day I'll drag one of friends on Iron Dragon. I think it's a better ride than Corkscrew, and Cedar Creek Mine Ride. I could ride that 3 times, well if I was by myself. Everyone says it's boring, but I think it has some fast turns and dips to it. Its a relaxing ride as well, especially if you've rode Millennium Force 5 times, and Dragster 4 times.

Not everyone is an adrenaline junky like alot of us here. Alot of older people just want to relax and go on a few calm rides. For example my mom. One ride on Millenium Force was enough for her. She road Iron Dragon 5 times however. And weather we want to admit it or not, the new colors on ID have attracted more riders and more attention to the ride.
