Tiffani, I am the same way. I can't wait to graduate and for summer to get here and be able to live at CP. Then theres a part of me who wants to stay home. I am going to miss a ton of parties and a ton of good times with my friends before we all go off to college. I am sure though working at CP will be a blast and I can't wait to meet all kinds of new people.
You don't really "lose" your summer. You'll probably make some good friends and not worry about what you're missing out at home, and it's always cool to come back home at the end of the summer and catch up with everyone. I find the change-up from home life to park life is quite refreshing. When you make the transititions it almost feels like you're going on vacation. It sounds like it's gonna be your first season. Don't stress about it and be social and you'll have a good time. Just make sure you're not staying in your room all the time or whatnot.
Trust me, you won't miss out on anything. There are times you might want to go home, but this may be the best summer of your life. I know that i would never give up my summer at CP to do anything else.

Tiffani, I know how you feel. The first summer that I went to CP, a part of me also regretted that I would not get to have a 'normal' summer. Then I ended up coming home early and got to have my normal summer...which was so boring! There are of course a lot of things you miss out on while working at CP, like having a lot of free time, spending time with family, getting more than three hours of sleep a night etc, but it is my experience (and I really hope it will be yours, too) that working at CP beats the pants off spending the usual summer at home.

I think you gain more than you lose...you'll make a ton of friends and, even though you'll be working a lot, I can almost guarantee you'll have more fun at CP than anywhere else. Of course I can't predict how it will work out for you, but I am just speaking from my experience. Also, you will get time to do a lot of the usual summer things that you would do at home, as well as being able to ride the rides and waterslides and go to the beach whenever you want. So don't worry, you definetly will not be missing out on anything!!

All you newbies will have a complete blast!!

Like many of us alumni will and have mentioned through out so many of these threads you're first season at CP can be a bit nervous and scarry until you make some friends. However once you've made those friendships your summer will fly by and you'll wind up back at school or whatever you do in the off season, and you'll wonder "So how much longer till next season?"

This is a very fun and wonderful place to work and live, give and take some of housings down sides, but no matter how your season ends you'll always look back and remember those fun times you had at the point.

live it up newbies and make your summer one heck of a blast!!

Yes, have all the fun you can now. Real life jobs can suck sometimes!
Cody, you're spending a couple months over there, not taking a trip for a year. Don't make it a huge deal. Sit back and relax, don't worry about not getting socially accepted or any garbage like that. It'll probably be rough for you at first, but after you make some friends (don't forget all the people in the same position you are) and are comfortable with your job, things will get much better. Until then, just chill out.
Heck it may be alot of fun for you!!! It was for me a long time ago!!!!!
