It wasn't that bad... It was hot and humid, but it didn't seem like the sun was as intense has it has been on other days...

I think 3 days in a row over 90 is an official heat wave. So today here in Michigan it got over 90 thats 1 day, tommrorw 97-100 thats with it going to feel like over 100 degress, thats 2 days, and Monday its going to be around 98-100 degrees, that is 3 days. The water rides are sure going to be crowded this weekend/week.

MichiganStateFan, correct me if I'm wrong but I think I remember seeing 90 on my car thing yesterday, too. Does the weather channel say otherwise?

Hey everyone,
I was at Cedar Point today. And needless to say it was down right miserable. When I left at 5:30 the thermometer said 92 degrees. But I can say that it was nice and cool in the Snoopy theater. Too bad the show only lasted 30 minutes.
One of my nieces friends said that a few people had heat stokes while standing in line to ride the Raptor.
Hopefully the next time I go, it'll be alot cooler.
Take Care,
Trent
The first weekend after I arrived at CP last year (on Father's Day '05), to work, It had to be about 102 and 85% humidity. Later on, they said it was the hottest June on record. After that, I don't considar anything too hot.

It's never as hot as you think it is. Temperature is always one of those things that feel worse than it really is. Today is the hottest day of the year so far, and it'll probably "only" make it to 93 or so. There are no official temperatures in Sandusky, but it's probable that today is the first 90+ day this year. Granted, with dewpoints in the lower 70's (remember, only the dewpoint has anything to do with comfort - the relative humidity tells you nothing), it really doesn't matter if it's 88 or 98.
It hasn't been 100 at Cedar Point since 1988.

I would rather be at work. When it's that hot, CP just isn't worth it.

101 on Magnum and counting...

yeah it was over 90 that day. I don't bealive The Weather Channel as much. They always ignore the lower Michigan (including Sadusky) and always talking about Chicago, or upper Michigan or the Northeast. Most of the time they are wrong as well. I usually look at www.noaa.com, or www.accuweather.com for my weather information. I use my weatherbug program to see what the temp is right now and for severe alerts. Right now near the Motor City its 97 degrees, so I think it will be about the same in Sandusky.
I was at the park yesterday too and the sun was just beating down along with the humidity, I just felt gross with the sweat. The night wasn't any better. Today seems worse. If I have to avoid it, I'd rather not go to any park when it's that miserable out, but that was my only trip out there until the fall.
As for Raptor, I love the ride but the queue sucks. I made the mistake of going on it around 2-3ish yesterday
Usually the queue goes pretty fast for Raptor, well it has for me in the past years.
I know Cedar Point gives out free Ice Water which I wonder if its the only park that does, which is awesome. Do they have anywhere that cools you off ecept for the water rides? I know Universal Studios has like a sponsored coca-cola cooling station where it sprays out mist and you just stand there. I was wondering if Cedar Point may have a cooling off thing during days like this?
CP is not the only park to give out cups of ice water. I actually think that is a law. For people with medication/pills to take.

oh, i thought i went to Six Flags Great Adventures in Chicago (which Cedar Point is way better then Six Flags) once and asked for a cup of Ice Water and they said I would have to pay I think $2.00 for it. Maybe not but I think they told me I had to. It was a long time ago.
There have been parks I've had to pay for cups of ice water before. In 2002 it cost me 25 cents at Michigan's Adventure, and I remember it being 10 cents a cup at Kings Island sometime in the 90's when I was there.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
I was in the park on sunday, and there were hardly any waits for the coasters. Millennium force was a 10 min wait.
It was hot though, I think it was in the upper 90's. It would of been nice to take a ride on white water landing.......but lets not go there.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
