What I find funny are the people who live in New Jersey area and said for two years that TTD looked way to short and was a waste of a ride. Then two years later they ride KK and it's the best ride ever. Point is, so many people look at these two rides and see a waste of a hour plus wait. You then walk by the exit and see nothing but smiles as they get off.

Those who still refuse to like the rides have a good reason. You look forward to riding it for months, get to the park, get in line, 1 1/2 hours later you're next in line and it breaks down for a few hours. I don't blame these people for getting a little pissed off and refusing to like this ride, because let's face it, no ride is worth a 4 plus hour wait, especially when you're surrounded by 15 other coasters that are operating like they should be. Luckily I've yet to experience that type of situation and I love the ride.

But, for those of you who just think the ride is worthless, then I just don't understand. Unless you ride over and over again 10+ times in a row, I can't see how going 120mph will ever get boring. But, that's why CP is a great park since they bring variety and offer other coasters such as MF and Raptor that tend to be crowd pleasers year after year.

Ok, then Magnum is a copy of every steel coaster before it.

No John you got it reversed every hyper ever built is just a copy of Magnum.

I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.

To some of us 120 is pretty slow... I used to race Top Fuel Dragsters for awhile and that is not even half of the speed we can reach in those...

On top of that (and this is a bad example) But I hit around 115 every once in awhile in my car late at night coming home...

It makes 696 seem that much shorter...

I rode it opening weekend, liked it a little better than Dragster. The OTSR's didn't bug me at all, its not like you get any air on Dragster nowadays anyways, so whats the difference.

Yeah i'm not buying into the whole copycat thing. In that case, Wicket Twister os a complete knock-off of the former Six Flags Ohio, S:UE now Steel Venom. All they did was add a little height and twsit the back spike. Do I think WT and S:UE are the same? No I like and dislike things about both. Same with KK and TTD

That is true, but TTD was the first strata ever and that makes it special, but like I said before,im sure KK is a great ride.

Who cares if Kingda Ka is a copy? If it gets to the point to where CP starts hurting (noticeably) because of KK and CP's overall performance decreases, then I'll be upset at KK. Otherwise, this cycled forum talk of KK and how it shouldn't get any recognition at all is nonsense.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

What recognition?:) IMO, KK didnt get as recognized for being the tallest and fastest as Dragster did.

I'm sure you can all guess where my allegiance is at, but I must admit two things: I liked Kingda Ka better, and running 4 trains out of two stations actually works really well.

That system IS pretty efficient.

All in all, both coasters have their pros and cons. Both are good rides (even though I havnt ridden KK yet). And both will have their fans and their dislikers.

I think this topic can be closed on that note. Then again, it's Walt decision.

Yeah Adam, your right about the recognition thing. Dragster was a celebrity in the coaster world for its size, and KK was less of one. Still, people always jump at the chance to smash KK into the ground, taking what little recognition it has and tearing it apart.

You got that right. Heck, I used to be one of those people. But I've come to terms with it. But I was still REALLY ticked off when it was first announced. My last ride on Dragster in 04 was a sad one.:(

But no matter....Dragster will always be my all time favorite.:)

I never knew there was an exact copy of Raptor out there. It´s a weird feeling I get from looking at those pictures (wtf?? Raptor?? WHITE?). Guess it´s somewhat the same with TTD & KK (despite their small differences). When you feel like you´ve got a unique coaster around, and someone copies the design, it just feels wrong. (Though I guess I wouldn´t complain if KK was build in my home park ;)).

Top Thrill Dragster Launches: 13
Kingda Ka launches: 31
Storm Runner Launches:10

I find KK much rougher than TTD, and just not as smooth a ride. I also must agree the dual station on KK is great. But TTD's ride experience without the OTSR (regardless of how unobtrusive they are) gives TTD the egde over KK imo.
