Well I finally got to ride Kingda Ka at the begining of the month.... I loved every second of it.... The colors are so cool the tower is not lit up oh I just loved it.... The Launch is great... You fly as soon as it launches and at the end of the launch run you get one last pull... Th verticle climb is the same as Dragsters but a little rough. The top of the tower is so neat but I hate the Brakes.. The drop is also no different but the bunny hop. GREAT JOB WITH THAT SIX FLAGS... Over all I loved the ride and the theaming and cant wait to go back and ride it again...
On another note Kingda Ka had alot of problems over the weekened including a Catch car problem that caused Six Flags to rope off the whole KK area. I know that it is now back up and running but it was a scary moment as my train was next to Launch...
Over all Kingda Ka took a number 4 on my top 10.....

Im sure its a great ride, but I am still pissed that SF copied so much of TTD's design. TTD will always be the first.
Thats the nature of the biz though Devil...Re-use and sell designs to parks that work..or don't work..haha
Can't fault other parks for that...
Sparty On!
I'm sure if the tables were turned, there would be a completely different outlook on the situation. The bunny hill would be a heck of a lot more of a significant change, methinks.

My sentiments exactly.

Like I said, if SF had TTD and CP had KK, most of the people touting Dragster as #1 would instead be proclaiming the significance of the extra height and added element in KK.

We're heading out to Dorney Park and SF this June...and Im very much looking forward to riding it. Over at gadv.com (SFGA version of pointbuzz) they share your sentiments. A little rougher, but from what Im told you can feel a difference in the power at the launch.
Im also not looking forward to the OTSRs.
Raptor and Mantis we're all copied from SF coasters too if we wanna play that game. ;) We'll be hitting SFGAD at the end of May and I can't wait for Ka(although I'm more excited to experience Nitro) keep your fingers crossed for us and let's hope its running!

Which coaster did Raptor copy? No it wasn't the first invert, but it was a unique layout when it was built.

Batman as far as being an invert goes.

Ok, then Magnum is a copy of every steel coaster before it. And Gemini is just a copy of CCMR, and Dragster of Xcellerator. Yeah its an invert, but about the only thing in common between the Batmans (which are clones of each other) and Raptor is the first drop into a loop.
CD - yes there is a copy of Raptor in Japan, but it is a copy of Raptor, not the other way around.

It really doesn't matter if it's a copy if it's maintained well and operated well.

when a ride like Dragster only has a few elements, adding a 129' bunny hill is adding quite a bit, IMO.

Wait..
Ok, ok this IS still POINTBUZZ... I was beginning to wonder what board I was on.
Well, high five I guess.
This is a stupid question, but what can people see from the top of the ride while in New Jersey? Arms Down, does it compair to looking across Lake Erie, Sandusky and Port Clinton?
