If you grew up in NYC like I did, the trash is EVERYWHERE-in the streets and on the side of the highways, it is disgusting!! People there just don't care at all.
When you move to another state you really appreciate the cleanliness and it really does piss you off when you see someone make a mess. One time my brother (visiting from NY no less) decided to throw a candy bar wrapper out the window -I slammed on the brakes and made him get out and pick it up..reminding him this is NOT NY and that was NOT acceptable!.

I find myself on every trip to CP picking up some piece of trash and putting it in the trash can. I assume the pride of being a former employee is the reason I do that, can't help it!!

Some people are just selfish idiots and unfortunitely the world is full of 'em! :(

Well Jo you have a way of making people feel bad and guilty about doing it. Keep it up. :)

I'm glad somebody brought up the mess in the parking lot. When we left Friday about 11:30pm we had McDonalds bags and cups all around our car. We even had a pop can under one of our tires. My wife was not happy. As we left we scanned the mostly empty lot and were amazed by the rubbish. The rubbish also attracts those dive bombing gulls which we can do without.

Also, while we are talking about the parking lot. We got to the about 4:30 and drive towards the front of the lot so we could find a space that had be vacated. We found numerous cases where people took up two spaces. Most of the time they were side by side parking spaces, one time someone parked in the middle of the two rows instead of pulling all of the way up. Come on people.

The trash in the parking lot is one of the main reasons you pay $10.00 (or whatever it is) to park. That giant parking lot sweeper doesn't pay for itself you know.
