I Just Don't Get Some People

Some people have no respect. Yes, this is known to all sane people, yet the insane live in their own world. Today driving on the freeway, I-75 to be exact, yet away from CP :(, I saw several people running right up to other peoples' bumpers and then at the last second moving over a lane.

Heck, I've had people come speeding out of nowhere and beep at me, as though I'm doing something wrong. One case, pulling out of Costco once some @$$hole nearly hit me, it felt like inches away, if that, surpisingly nothing seemed damaged.

Some old person, I believe, once came speeding down the freeway through a red light and ran right into the side of a car. I would have probably been there had I spent but a few seconds less at Arby's getting dinner. All this with my grandma in the car. No wait, it was an SUV. Ford Freestyle to be exact.

Accidents will always happen. Why? The poor mentality of people these days. It sucks, and only will get worse with time. That is, of course, unless we could do something about it and successfully do. All that can really be done to tackle this problem is... Well there's really nothing that I can think of.

This is the same mentality as the people who litter everywhere. They don't care. They simply do not care, or possess any respect for the wonderful property which is Cedar Point.

So what if this is a long post, at least I'm right. I am right....!?!? ;)

Oh yeah, Ben, I saw a road named after you today :P

People suck, man. Unfortunately all we can do is bitch about it, and they'll never change.

I agree with you...I'm already speeding, sorry that's not good enough for you.

Can't tell you how many times I've had some arrogant ass hole to something similar like that to me on my way to/from work.
True story:
Just last week, I was riding in a car with some friends on our way home after a night out. We were driving on the highway (a 55mph speed limit, probably doing 75-ish) and were in the left lane as we were getting ready to turn about a mile or so up the road and a guy comes out of nowhere and rides our bumper. Now, there's nobody in the right lane so he could've just gotten over there to pass us if he wanted...but no. Instead he sees his chance to pass us when a turn lane appears for a smaller side-road just before our turn. Yup...the jerk swerves over to the TURN LANE and passes us. To make matters worse, the turn lane wasn't all that long, so he had to cut us off as soon as he got around us.

Really? There's a road called Jerk street near you? ;)

Ooooooh. That's 2 in one thread, Mr. Holcomb.

Well, I think it was called Holcomb, but if that's what you wish to refer to him as, I won't tell him... ;)

Hey look at it in a new way. If you need money, grab an empty bag, pick up all the cans and bottles and get the money when you cross the border. That's 10 cents per!!!!

While working in foods, what bothered me is the straw lovers. As most people know, to get a straw you must ask. The guest will ask me reasons the park doesn't give them out. I would say because we try to keep the park clean and 9 of 10 wrappers find the ground(by the way, this is not the reason. It just sounds good). What does the guest do? They throw the wrapper on the ground.

Haha... this is going to sound kind of lame, but whenever I see a piece of trash laying on the ground at CP I always pick it up! I cant not stand seeing trash on the ground!

I'm going to take a lot of flak for this, but I've been guilty of litter before. I've never really done it much, but last year I was at McDonalds on the causeway and was too lazy to talk to the trashcan, so I left it in the parking lot.

I got an earful from another member on this site (who will remain nameless unless they want to speak up) and learned my lesson.

I deserved it as I was definitely being lazy.

Sorry Millenium, just in a bad mood.

People have the same mentality as a visit to a baseball game. You buy a bag of peanuts and beer, and where do the shells and empty cans go? I do agree that litter in the parking lot can get out of hand.

What do you do with your shells at a baseball game? I know I'm not carefully placing them back into the bag.

Every time my wife and I leave the park we're in awe over the laziness of people who just leave their stuff in the parking lot. It's just disrespectful, no matter where you are. Then again, I see people throw stuff out of their car windows every morning on the way to work, so it is no surprise. People just plain don't care....bottom line. Not to mention a lack of empathy.

Promoter of fog.

As I said, they don't care. They don't. It's that simple, really. If they had to pick up the lot, then maybe they'd understand, yet that's not really too enforceable. No matter where, you will find people that do this sort of thing. Why? They don't care. They don't get it, either. Now, we could either keep complaining or work out ways to get this cut down/eliminated. Knowing people on this forum, its probably gonna be the first one.

Someone's got to feed the birds!

I work in retail and I come to the conclusion that people suck. I hate them they don't care about anyone but themselves. So. I'm trying to help this customer and I she came in and I went up to her saying "What can I hope you find" she was on her cell phone talking I kept saying "What can I help you find" no answer from her, so I went and helped another customer, thinking she does not need help since she was not responding to me. Well, after awhile I walked by the customer that I tired to help before (the one on the cell phone) and she yells at me saying why didn't I help her. I wanted to say I tried but, you were on your bad word cell phone you bad word idiot. So wish I could of said that. I didn't though because I can't let the customer show that im pissed off at her. If you work in retail you know what I mean I know e x i tenglish does. People put things in wrong places when the thing is right in front of their faces, they ask for help when they product is right in front of their faces, and they will annoy you to no end.

Unfortunately, however, this goes both ways. The people who are supposed to help sometimes tend to do just the opposite.

Case One: I was at McDonald's yesterday and the person taking our order, the manager I think, just started walking off in the middle without explanation. How rude.

Case Two: I went to return something today as a gift and was told that I could find stuff to exchange it with for the same amount. I look around and find several things. Then the person says it has to be like items, and yet the thing being what it was is exactly why I was returning that. They said that in that case they could only give a gift card to the store. Nothing upfront that it had to be. Again, how rude.

So, as much as it pains me, there are people in positions of all sorts everywhere who prove just how little they give a <censored>.

People are people and I hate to say it, but this day and age people lack respect of people and property. You can see that all over in many place and things. I don't see this changing or getting any better. I hope that I am wrong and it gets better, but I just don't see it happening.

101 on Magnum and counting...

Usually what happen if someone returns something, it has to be the same amount of the exchange or you will pay the difference so if a shirt is $5.00 and you paid $4.00 for you will have to pay the 4! extra. If you don't wan to pay for a sirt then they will give you a gift card.

and topthrilldragster those people in different postions your talking about is called coperate people that screw things up.
