How will Intimidator 305 stack up against Millennium Force

So, is that dummy in the rear-left seat there to simulate the size of the average enthusiast?

The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

pointperson said:Actually the restraints are not exactly like Mavericks. I305's are more formed and slimmer/thinner than Maverick's.

It's the fact that they appear to have the same rigidity as the Maverick style OTSRs. The type of OTSRs that were almost confirmed from the park were these style (strap). http://rcdb.com/3613.htm?p=20254

The Intimidator restraints look a bit thinner than Mavericks as illistrated in this photo :-) and it also looks like it has a bit more neck support than Maverick's. Not saying it will improve the restraints anymore, I am just pointing out that they are not identical designs.

Kings Dominion has posted a teaser video including some POV on their youtube page http://www.youtube.com/user/KingsDominionTV

I see what you're saying but what I'm saying is that they're both the dense foam padding. 305 has a sleeker design that widens as it gets to the neck/chest regions as apposed to Mavericks thick design. Upon digging through RCDB, apparently iSpeed at Mirabilandia has the exact same design as 305. http://rcdb.com/4147.htm?p=24062

The other restraints I pointed out are more like straps that appear to somewhat contour to the riders chest and shoulders and isn't as rigid and thick as the foam. Here's another example. http://rcdb.com/4309.htm?p=23290

The lift is faster... it hits 94mph... the first drop is freaking insane... you blackout on the first turn... tons of airtime... there is some headbanging! Very, very, very intense ride! Better than MF?!?! Yes, because my adrenaline was like being on TTD, but obviously this ride is a lot longer!

You CP lovers need to come check this puppy out! I think it will be worth the drive because you can also checkout Busch Gardens as well...

It definitely looks impressive just by what I saw from the media day footage. Can't wait to ride!

If Intimidator did not have OTSR's, I might buy that it is better than MF. But there is no way with the headbangin' I saw on the video that it is better than MF. Intimidator does look more intense, but I'm not sure that is good thing. There is something to be said for how comfortable MF is, which is why I would never put Maverick over it as well. Plus, MF is 10 years old, so of course Intimidator is getting more love because it's brand new and fresh.

According to "Twisty" from the Theme Park Review, I305 "eats up Millennium Force and craps it out all over Cedar Point."

^Agreed. Well said. There is something to metion about those high speed banked s curves, as well as the (warning: the following contains a vast amount of whining) TRIM BRAKE ON THE SECOND HILL. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!

The OTSR are needed or your spine would snap in half or you and your passenger head's would bash together. I am a huge MF lover and I stated when this thread started I didn't think it would be better. IT IS!!! I promise... this ride is 100% non-stop pure insanity!

That's all subjective BRcoastropsycho34. I don't find the banked turns on Maverick to be fun at all...my head/neck bashing rapidly side to side is not enjoyable, and I'm a coaster freak. If you like this, great...enjoy. But, MF is my type of a coaster. I don't want to be in pain when I exit a coaster. I've got to imagine Intimidator is even more painful Maverick.

Fair enough... I like to get roughed up a little. It adds more thrill to the ride for me. And MF isn't all that smooth. The only reason I305 isn't as smooth is because of the Maverick type s curves.

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?

I rode it Thursday... and it almost gets there. It's almost better than MF. It's so close.

If Millennium Force and Maverick had a child, this coaster would be it. The first drop is just like MF. The turn will likely cause most people to gray out a bit. It's very intense. The airtime is more forceful. It also requires a little defensive riding on several of the transitions. They're not a deal breaker, but the restraints really do suck. I caught my neck on them several times, and... not trying to be funny here... they rub your nipples in a non-desirable way. What keeps the ride from total ultimate greatness is the restraints.

But again, it's not a deal breaker. I'd still put it right behind MF as one of my favorites. It's not, however, a ride you can sit all day on. At least, not most people. It takes a lot out of you.

Just what I thought...more painful than Maverick. Jeff: (serious question) is the lateral force on the Maverick and Intimidator banked curves way too much for lap bar restraints?

I can't believe the pain my thighs and legs went through (due to the OTSR's) after 17 nonstop rides on Maverick. I think it's safe to say my whole body would hate me if I tried the same on I-305. I'll be fine to get a few rides in when I go.

I went back to KD today to ride it... After riding it again, I personally still like it better than MF... It was a lot smoother today... I can't believe how fast the lift hill is... It's almost twice as fast than MF, but who cares about lift hill speed right?!?! I do agree with Jeff that this ride takes a lot out of you! As for the restraints, I think they are very comfortable and are greatly needed. I am totally beat right now after riding it 4 times today

One thing I noticed was how there are stairs instead of the "cart" that Millennium uses on the lift hill. I wonder if they thought it would just be less hassle than it would have been worth to use a cart on the hill. Just an observation.

Holy crap I would hate to have to do the lift walk on that ride with stairs! Getting up the stairs on Raptor's lift almost killed me every time I had to do it! And that's only 137'!
