How far are you traveling for Gatekeeper?

I'm just curious to hear how far everybody is traveling to experience Gatekeeper this year. Any interesting travel plans/details?
For example, I am coming from Vermont with three friends. It's a ten hour drive both ways but still 100% worth it. We will be there for four days. May 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th. Staying at Breakers in a non-lakeview suite.

New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus

I will be making the trip with 10 of my friends (me being the 10th) from Richmond, VA in August for my 30th Bday. We are staying at the Sandcastle Suites Aug. 22, 23, & 24. We haven't decided if we are all flying or want to make a road trip (rent a big van). I usually drive the 20 hours both ways, but I'm getting too old and I almost killed us 4 years ago because I almost fall asleep at the wheel. Thank the lord for those bumpy things on the side of the highway!

I have notice in the past that CP employees started recognizing us when we used to come every year because we roll deep, VCU Baseball alumni, and are the fun bunch. Go VCU Rams btw (had to throw that in there)!!! But, its been 4 years, so I doubt the same employees are there or anyone will remember us. We also love hanging out at the TGIF bar after the park because the bartenders hook it up (most of us were bartenders in college so we tip well :-)). We also would go into downtown Sandusky to some bar that played live music and the locals at the bar were always super nice. A lot of them liked to talk baseball with us.

This year will be the first time I have been to The Point in 4 years and boy do I miss her! The other 9 peeps that are coming have never been and are very excited. Yes, they make fun of me everyday for being a coaster geek! Anyway, that's my how much we have planned so far. If "ya'll" (my southern twang coming out) have any more idea's on nightlife after park hours... Let me know! Oh yeah, what is the best place to buy beer in the park? Nothing better than having a couple of adult beverages and then hopping on TTD!!!

I'll be driving in from Chicago (about 5-6hrs) with 4 other of my friends -- to go May 11th (and maybe 12th). Splitting a hotel room and gas fare with everyone and with their May deal on tickets, the whole weekend shouldn't cost me more than like $105 for everything

Less than 7 days til May 11...

Eat 'em up, Tigers, eat 'em up!

9 hrs from CT but im going for coaster mania not for GK

An hour and a half, going as often as I want. Even if it's after a school day I might head out for a few hours. I love living within a pretty close distance to the park. I feel like I'll never be able to move too far out of the area. I don't know what I'd do without CP!

Top 5 CP Coasters: 1. Steel Vengeance 2. Millennium Force 3. Maverick 4. Dragster 5. Magnum
Coaster Count: 102

12 hour drive from the suburbs of St.Paul, Minnesota. Leaving Saturday, June 15th and driving all the way. Two days at the park with Fast Pass Plus, and the horrible return drive on Tuesday. It will be my 12 year old son's first time.

About 35 minutes one way.

Charles Ramsey deserves an up-the-exit front row ride on gatekeeper :)

Actually, I would rather see an up-the-exit front row ride for Amanda, Gina, and Michelle. You could throw Charles in there to fill out the row. :)

Coming in from central FL the weekend of 1 June. Haven't been to the park since the summer of 2003, so I'm looing foward to be able to finally ride Maverick and the two giant swings in addition to Gatekeeper.

Driving up from Greenville, SC (10 hours each way) at the end of the month. Ohioans like to go to SC in the summer, but I do it the other way around!

Wow, I thought my 2 hour drive from Trumbull County was a bit long....

Coming up to the Point on Memorial Day week to celebrate my 30th birthday (which is on May 30th). Staying at Hotel Breakers.

Never expect good things to happen. Pray for them.

8 hours from Baltimore, MD. I will be there May 19th till the 22nd.

The shortest route to the Point for me is 263 miles, so about 3.5 hours from Greenfield, Indiana (15 miles east of Indianapolis).
