Housing Sucks

The wifi is spotty at best. You definitely can't rely on it working when you need to use it. I'd say it was down about 40% of the time I tried to use it last summer.

Well, that is exactly the pitch you want to be giving to potential employees. I will repeat my mantra:

What could be Cedar Point's greatest carrot in pulling in potential employees is it's greatest liability instead. Only Kinzel is to blame for that.

It all depends on what you like. If you NEED an air conditioner...Commons Dorms is for you. If you don't mind sharing an apartment with your sisters and possibly 10 other people Commons Apartments is for you. Most likely Bayside Apts. will be full by then, they tend to go fast because Sups, Security & anyone coming really early have to live there.

In 2007 I lived in commons dorms & I didn't mind it at all. Yeah, it's a bit small...but because your living there w/ family..it should be alot more tolerable than with strangers.

It's ok to bring your computer..just NEVER leave it lying around..even if you leave for a second. Some people come to CP just to steal and then quit.

i know i left my comp lying around for one week i got a new roommate after not having one for 3 months and bam no more laptop i was pissed he said he had went to his girlfriends house in sandusky and within half an hour it was gone which i find to be b/s so yeah if you decide to bring up your laptop just find trustworthy roomates first i mean how i was able to leave my dorm unlocked for 3 months without anything coming up missing and when i finaly got a roomate things started to disappear

oh well

That's not quite true. Not meaning to scare people and I'll be putting up a thread shortly, but I suggest a GPS device or insurance. A lot more happened last year in terms of thefts than you know. The "just NEVER leave it lying around..even ifyou leave for a second" part is true. But there are quite a few ways to have something stolen, which I'll list not because I want to scare people, but because some of the thefts that happened last year, could have been avoided. So it will be mainly your responsibility to make sure your valuables are not stolen.

Thought I'd add this while it's on my mind. Do not leave your laptop or any valuable things lying around the room. Yes, it looks good to see your laptop on the table, but not wise. Commons dorms is nice in that you can leave your valuables in a locker. Get a lock and you can feel safe. You might end up losing the key to your lock, but Housing has lock cutters.

This is no more smoking rooms this year at all just had to sign a thing saying i wouldnt

r u serious?

That's pretty nice actually. Due to the crappy ventilation system they have in Commons, your room smells like a smokers room if you live within 2-3 rooms of one. It took me half the season before I realized that I needed to cover my vent in duct tape to keep the smoke out of my room.

I just feel bad for the people this year who end up in a "former" smoking room.

NO SMOKING ROOMS!?! I'm gonna die... J/K... I dont care if they make me live in a box, I am so excited to come work there!!! 17 DAYS!!! WOHOOOO!!

This one's tricky. You have to use imaginary numbers, like eleventeen ...

I was researching the CP housing options, and i heard rumors about how there were bedbugs. Is this true?
