I really hope i get a job in rides, because as someone said, lifeguarding sucks. How long until they call/email me back telling me if i got the job or not? i really hate waiting and would love to know if they hired me.

Are you a prior lifeguard? Kinda harsh to say it sucks if you haven't even been one before.

Lifeguarding is the worst job ever. You stand there all day, staring at people. Thats it. Its just horrible.
Lifeguarding is what you make it. Yes, you are WATCHING people to ensure their safety swimming, but there's always the possibilities of rescues and actually performing first aid and/or CPR.
I think it's a great job. Been a lifeguard for 5 years now.

yeah i've been a lifeguard for 3 years. As much as i wouldnt mind doing it for another summer, i'd really rather not do it for another summer
So I just checked on the status of my application and it says it's being reviewed. It also gives me a 1-800 number to call to check on my application as well.
If I call this number, will I speak to a person, or will it be some sort of recorded thing?

They said the same thing to me, and when i called the number, i got a voice recording telling me to press buttons on where i needed to go, and then i finally got connected and the phone rang for 2 minutes and no one picked up. So i think eventually you talk to a real person, but to start out its a machine.
Yea. The 1-800 number is the pre-recorded woman asking you to press the buttons. If it's under review and you don't have any weird misdemeanors or felonies, I would expect you be getting a call within the next couple weeks.

Will it really take a couple weeks?
Cause it took a week alone for it to even be reviewed.
Not that its really a problem I guess.

i really dont think i'll get hired. maybe i'm just paranoid. why do you have to call the number anyway?
You don't HAVE to call the number.
It just says that if you want to check on the status of your application, you can.

Be patient. Cedar Point, like virtually every other business in Ohio and most of the United States, is dealing with a higher than normal amount of applications and it takes time to read through them all.
According to a Cleveland news station, Cedar Point had over 600 people show up to the job fair on Saturday vs. 100 last year. People are desperate for jobs, which means more people are applying and more people to interview. Even if your application has been reviewed once, you might not get a call for several days.
If you don't hear from someone after 3 or so weeks, that is when I would start calling. Just don't call after like 3 or 4 days of not hearing anything because everyone is backed up right now and it will likely take longer than that to get your application.
If you really want an interview with a specific person or department, go to the 2nd job fair in Sandusky that is coming up later this month. That will guarantee you an interview.

I would reccomend hurrying up and applying ASAP for the best chance of getting hired. I applied only a few weeks back and got the call a couple days ago that I was hired.Good luck. :)
Congratulation to you Bradley. I was just hired in for 3rd shift building cleaning attendant. I will be there 7 months or 220 days

I was bugging out about whether or not I would be hired. But have faith most of there employees dont arrive until way later so you have a reasonable amount of time. And you get to experience the Dorm Life!!!

Yea, I knew the number and such, I was just asking if I'd talk to a person or not when I called.
Thank you anyway though!

its been 7 days, and i'm gonna wait one more week before i call. last time i called nobody picked up, so hopefully i'll have better luck next time.
Just give it time. You have to realize these people are FLOODED with applications and it's gonna take to get through them and decide who they want.

When you call it'll say that if you want to set up an interview press number 2 ( i think) and that'll list all the departments. You press the number for the department you want and it calls them. If they are in they'll answer the phone in person. If there out or on the other line it'll tell you to leave a message.
