I was just wondering how long the hiring process took? I just put in my application yesterday (a little late, I know!) and wanted to know when to expect an interview, if I get one.
within the next week your application should get reviewed by a manager. Once that happens the manager will be in contact with you to set up an interview.
2009- Raptor
2010- ATL Planet Snoopy/Ocean Motion/Chaos
depends on where you applied to. Im a ride host this year and i was asked questions like "are you afraid of heights?" "do you work well with children?"
what is the best example of customer service you've ever experienced?" "can you give an example of when you worked with a team?" its not a very long interview mine was only 25 minutes then 2 days later i checked my jobnet and i had been assigned to hte power tower so its a quick process!

I applied for Merchandise sales as my main interest.
Thanks for the tips. I really hope I get a job here. :-)
Yeah, I live in Michigan by Ann Arbor. I was considering the Commons Dorms the most. My best friend is hoping to get a job too, so we were planning on rooming together if we both get jobs. I saw that there could be three people to a room. Is that typical? Or are there more rooms with just two people?
in the commons dorms there are 3 people to a room. thats typical. but your hardly ever in your room even on your days off you will probably end up going to the park or soak city since you get in for free lol.

Alrighty, thanks. I admit that I am a bit of a homebody, so I might be in my room more than the typical employee. Haha. But who knows, this will be a learning experience (if I'm even hired). This will be my first experience in a dorm-like atmosphere (besides 4 weeks of band camp throughout High School).
oh yeah kelsey is right. you may have 2 other roomates the rooms are small but you really only need them to sleep lol. if you get hired bring shower shoes because i wouldnt recommend walking barefoot in the bathroom lol

haha Molly dont worry, even though the dorms are tiney, tv's are great and your bed is comfy... plus they all have personal AC so they are not too bad at all... kinda cozy if you ask me.... Its when you try and host parties in them that isnt too fun...
More than likely you and your roomies will not have the same schedule most of the time so you'll get a lot of alone time too... and nothing is better than having a split on a hot day and just going bak to commons and sleeping for 3 hours :)
My signature was longer than three lines.
i have no idea what to expect working on rides this year lol...area 2 karrah told me that i will be working on different ones throughout the summer
2010-power tower!
Don't get your hopes up to work everywhere in area two, trust me I went in last year expecting to be able to cross train at all sorts of places and never got the chance to cross train anywhere until august. I worked there from opening day to closing day and worked a total of 3 rides, plus worked corkscrew/super himalaya on closing day.
You will learn to both love and hate your ride, but you have to learn to make the absolute best of every situation or i guarantee you will not make it through the summer. Go into this all with an open mind and you will be fine, Just don't expect to move all over the place its not typical especially if we have the staffing that we had last season. You may get lucky and be asked to fill in a shift or two at other rides, or be asked to switch rides for a week, but its not common to be moved all the time.
You will enjoy Power Tower I'm sure of it, your Leadership is great, just be prepared to stare at the sky all day long! Like i said earlier, and like every other returner is saying on this site, go into the summer with an open mind and make the best of what you have and you will have one of THE best summers of your life!

I only had 1 roommate all year. My first roommate left after 1 week. I was alone in my dorm for a few weeks, got another roommate who left 2 weeks later to go back home and then got a third roommate who spent every waking minute in her boyfriend's room. I never even met my last roommate, because she was only in our room early in the mornings while I was sleeping. My room only had 2 lockers though, and 3 beds...so it was mostly made for 2 people, 3 if necessary. I also second the whole you probably won't move around as much as your expecting to concept. I worked Twister from my first day to last day, with the exception of one weekend on Raptor. I have no idea what merchandise is like with the whole moving around thing, soooo Good Luck!!!
2009: Wicked Twister
Raptor12 you sure do know a lot for this being your first year! I know Mackenzie will comment on this post now lol

Typically in Merch you will have one store you are mainly in but might work multiple stores in a day to cover breaks and the store you are scheduled to work might change from week to week depending on where employees are needed.

My application says it is available for review by park operations and soak city... i'm kinda disappointed because i chose ride op as my first choice :( and does this mean i probably won't be hired?
