Higher Food Prices in 2008

^ thanks for the pictures man. Did you get any with the new maverick cups in them, so i can see what they look like?

4 summers of employment in ride operations does stuff to you.

I remember seeing a hot dog at the Iron Dragon restraunt-thing for $7.29 last year. I don't know if that was a mistake or not, but that's ridiculous, and funny because a corn dog was only $4 or so I think.I guess it'll be $10 a hot dog this year? This can't continue, there are going to be some very negative effects in the next couple years, if not this year.

Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~

those prices are much higher than my local subway

I wonder if cedar point made them match the prices with the rest of the park

Eight bucks for a 6" sub, and... and... as if they're doing you a favor... only six bucks more for a drink and a bag of chips!

As I've said, it has gotten to the point where the pricing is just insulting. They've managed to far surpass everyone else in the industry. I'm just not going to be buying food in the park. It's not going to happen. The drink prices are 40% higher than Disney and Universal.

And the worst thing about it? The higher prices don't get you anything at all. The service still sucks (trip report forthcoming) and the quality is still nothing special.

Well the prices are high, but I will still continue to purchase food at the Point.

Yeah, their Subway prices practically gave me a heart attack. Wow.

A 21oz drink and a bag of chips are pretty much the same amount of $$ as the cheapest sub.

And what's with this "Italian and Wheat Only" stuff? I needs me my Italian Herbs & Cheese!

I'm not even gonna ask about footlong prices........

Is anyone actually surprised by the subway prices?

Can anyone get me a photo of the menu at panda express and johnny Rockets in the park, also how much is it at midway market ?, also how much is Pop in vending machines. thanks Robert

I commented to Mr. Kinzel about the food prices yesterday, and Mr. K. gave me a "we'll look into it" type of attitude. He basically played the ignorance card when I complained to him about that. He was not the only person I complained to about food prices at the park.

But I did spend $4.25 (including tax) at the park yesterday, for some Tofts.

I seriously hope they see a drop in Per-Cap spending this year, so they can see that the pricing has gone out of hand. Unfortunately, I doubt that will happen.

I remember a while back when a local movie theater lowered its pricing on food. From what I remember, it was a miserable failure. Supposedly, people that buy food will buy it anyway, regardless of the price.

The only things I can do to combat these prices is to complain, and to not buy any of the park's food. Yesterday, I left the park and got a $5 Footlong at the Subway I mentioned earlier in this thread. While the promotion is supposedly ending after today, the sub I get will supposedly stay at $5, and I'll probably be back at that Subway.

Anyway, enough of my rant (for now)!

That's funny, since DK said in an interview that prices were going up.

The Midway Market lunch price is $12.95 ($13.80 with tax)

I believe that the dinner price is $15.49 (before tax)

JuggaLotus's avatar

Still overpriced by about 12.70.

Absurd. That's all I can say about the Subway prices. $1/INCH just for a veggie delight. That's a straight up robbery. Toft's prices are actually reasonable, but I'd like to know about their serving sizes, and I'm sure everything else is the same old even-more-overpriced crap. I'm also sure that it still costs $5 to have your weight guessed and win a 25 cent prize.

Not a great way to appease visitors who are already getting nailed by nearly $4/gallon gas prices. Squeezing them for all they got now will definitely not bode well in the future.

So, were they supposed to drop all the games to $1 and give you a $15 prize? Technically, the games are cheaper than they've ever been (at least as long as I've been going) because as inflation has gone up, the games have stayed the same price.

John

Games/Merch are very reasonable. It seems as though it is only Food that is ridiculously overpriced.

I wasn't complaining about the games in general. It's just the "Guess Your Weight" game, which I think is the most expensive game besides the 3 Pt. Shootout, and has the cheapest prize (smallest teddy bears). I agree with you both, CP's games have stayed reasonable, and some offer really great prizes. However, the price of Guess Your Weight/Age/Birth Month has always baffled me.

Hail to the Victors

I would assume it might have something to do with the fact that it's also the easiest game to win. I've stood there watching it for a good 15 minutes and more than half the people that play end up winning.

$8.00 for a PB&J or Grilled Cheese Kids meal...

*Note to self: Keep kids away from Joe Cool Cafe, as you will pay close to $20 for them to eat PB&J sandwiches.
