personlly, i like the "3 gears" illusion of KK. i love that launch, its just more intese, and if you ride in the front seat, it's not jerkey like it is in the back. also, i think even the jerkeyness adds to the out-of-control feel of how fast you re actually going. both are great, but ovrerated rides. *** Edited 8/20/2006 2:30:19 AM UTC by marimbit***
I'm not going to be some stupid TTD fanboy and say that TTD is better. No offense to TTD fanboys. I went yesterday and I liked KK slightly better. I love the more intense launch and the hill at the end IS better than just going flat. I know there are brakes in the middle but you still get really good ejector airtime going up it. I say KK is better.

Well you get to a slightly higher speed in less time. So therefore I think it is more intense. But it is also shorter.

They actually get to top speed at about the same time.
Dragsters actual launch time is like 3.8 seconds. The whole 4 second thing is just how long it takes to clear the entire launch track. The catch car hits the catch car brakes at around 3.8 seconds and that's when it disengages from the train and starts to slow down. Ka takes like 6 seconds to disengage from its catch car. :) If I was SFGADV, I'd play it safe and even out the speed along the whole launch track, like how Dragster is. Dragster has a limited length of launch track in which to get to 120+ mph where as Ka has more than enough time. Think of how much less stress it would put on the motor and everything to even the launch out on Ka. Just a thought though. I’m in no way saying that they should do it to make Dragster better. I just think it would seem like a smarter thing to do with such a powerful and stressful system.

Well, Six Flags figures the novelty will wear off in a few years, then it can continually be closed due to maintenance... ;)

While I must say both are quite the thrill, I just don't see the hype in a 10 second ride. Sure it's incredible the first and second times, but I'd personally rather be riding Millenium Force or something of that nature where I don't feel like I just wasted an hour for a quick ten seconds. Good rides, just one trick ponys in my opinion
It seems like every time Cedar Point builds a new ride, someone else builds the same exact thing but make it like 15 feet higher. In two years Six Flags will build Maverick 2, and call it something like, Captain America or Magnito or some s%&@ like that. This is one reason why CP is the #1 park in the world. I hate clones, I hate Six Flags, and I hate copycats.

::Eddie:: Yeah where can I get some damn bait?
lol I love that scene from Vegas Vacation.:)
OH yeah, 120 MPH in less than 4 seconds IS still pretty dam fast!:)
