Question for you CP regulars... Is there someplace where visitors can be dropped off without paying for parking, if someone is going to drive the car away and not park?
A small group of us Scareacters from KI are coming up to CP to visit our Screamster cousins this weekend, but none of us have Platinum passes. Mrs. Gator will also be coming with us but is only going to the park on Saturday (no sense paying $35.99 for her to go for the 2.5 hours we'll be there on Friday night, after leaving right after our day jobs). So our plan is to have her drop us off, and she can check in to the hotel and hang there while we run amuck at the park Friday night.
KI has an easily accessible visitor drop off area, but I wasn't sure if something like that existed at CP. We don't want to pay to park if we're not parking a car there, and I didn't see the answer to this on CP's website. Thanks!
Oh, and... holla!

That's kind of what I thought we might have to do, but I wasn't sure.
There's a couple pirates in Castaway Cove that I know (one I know is returning, one I haven't heard if she's returning or not). Other than that, no one specifically, we just like the fact that you guys open a week before us. This will be my 4th year going to HW opening weekend with various other scareacters, so it's become a tradition for us.

Employees of other Cedar Fair parks get free parking, just show your ID at the tolls. Also only one person in the vehicle needs their ID. If you haven't started yet at KI then your best bet is to tell the Tolls person that you are just dropping off, you will still have to pay the $.50 toll fee though.

And don't forget looking at the park while going up the lift hill and seeing it submerged in a layer of fog.
2 words, Maverick & fog. Those 2 things alone are on the top of my list of things to be excited about for this year's HW.
That and I suppose the new haunts. :)

Thanks! We've always had a person in our group with a Platinum pass before so it wasn't an issue. We all have our KI employee IDs already.
But a $.50 toll fee? I don't think it's been that low for many, many years! LOL

Does anyone know if they put the hearse out by the front gate this year? I went to the park the 2nd last week of August and didn't see it out front. I believe they usually had it out then in previous years. My friends and I have always taken a picture in front of it and would like to keep that tradition going!
Just looked at the weather for Friday night. Looks like there is going to be 10-20mph winds, Can't see that Maverick fog sitting in there for very long.

Does anyone know what is going into the Palace Theater for Halloweekends? I would pay a $5 upcharge to see the Poe readings again, but you need to pay me $10 to sit through Dr. Cleaver!
Answering myself, I just called Cedar Point and was informed that there will not any show at the Palace this year, because they put its budget into the Skeleton Crew 'Cirque' style show on the Luminosity stage.
Definitely do all of the walkthroughs. There's no line, so there's no reason not to do them - for the most part you can go through them on your way to whereever else in the park you're going.
As for the haunts that you have to wait in line for.... All are decent, but I'd say that Eerie Estates is probably the best one. I also think Cornstalkers is kinda cool, because you walk through the Thunder Canyon trough, which creates a foggy, claustrophic feel. The new one, Eden Musee, will probably be good as well.
Great. Hmm, the Halloweekends website is just NOT working on my computer, could you maybe tell me which ones are the walkthrough haunts, just so I can look out for names as we're going around?
I will definitely do Eerie Estates and Cornstalkers, the idea of going through the trough sounds so so cool.
