Does anybody know where I can find the history of HalloWeekends? Like any good websites or brochures that list the haunts each year?

I've actually tried to look that kind of stuff up myself Maverick...The best I was able to come up with was just going on youtube and looking up Halloweekends from years past...It's cool because you get to see the progression of everything. I believe Halloweekends started in 1998..I might be wrong..but try starting your search there :) Hope that helps!
I have never been to halloweekends or looked much into it. What is the difference between a scare zone and a haunted house? On CPs website it says they have scare zones and haunted houses.
Looks like they're going all out with the decorations this year. I especially like the 200' spider:

A "Haunted House" is a indoor maze a "scare Zone" is a section of midway made into a out-side haunt experience. In a house you have to follow a specific path, in a scare zone you can walk as you please. with the exception of CornStalkers, that scare zone has a strict path.
I hope this helped.
^thats a good idea of what they are!
And HOLY CRAP! A 200' SPIDER! ;)

Funny coincidence, I took an extremely similar screenshot from the frontier town camera, and think that spider has a thing for webcams..

You should really consider visiting the park during Halloweekends, it's my favorite time of the year to spend at the point.
Frog Hopper King hit the nail on the head with the description of a Scare zone versus a haunted house. It's also important to note that you'll be waiting in line for a haunted house, but not so much for a walkthrough (besides cornstalkers). If you're considering going, do so on a sunday (in october) or friday if possible. Saturday's are usually insanely busy, and it may not be worth the money if you can just as easily visit on a sunday or friday.
I've been going to Cedar Point for years but never went to HalloWeekends. I went for the first time last year and the only haunts I did was Happy Jacks and Screamworks. I went mid October on a Friday though. This year I'm going end of September on a Friday, should this be better crowd wise? Last year it was very windy and very crowded so it wasn't the best first time experience. The weather should be a little bit nicer too.

September seems less crowded than october, so a friday in September should be okay. Weather wise, I'd aim for a good day, but nothing too good. If it's going to be sunny and 75, that may be an indicator that it's going to be busier than it would if it were, let's say, 68 and cloudy.
Anyone know if there is early entry/ERT for platinum pass holders during Halloweekends? I'm trying to look on the website but it doesn't work too well with my iPad.
i don't know about you guys but when every i go to halloweekends i always hope for over cast and cold, I've been when its 80 and sunny and it dosnt feel "halloweenie". can i get a hala back for anyone who agrees?
Icedripper, I'm not sure.

I agree, I love it when it feels like Halloween during Halloweekends.
halloweekends is still very young (16 seasons), especially when you look at Knotts which started it all and this year they are celibrating 40 years.

How long have Fear Faire and Carnevil been here? I couldn't find an answer for that.
Carnevil opened in 2004 near the current location of Planet Snoopy and Windseeker. It moved to Camp Snoopy in 2008. Fear Faire opened in 2006 and has stayed in the same location, although it's received a couple of makeovers.

I think a better description of the two is that the scare zones are outdoors and un-grouped, whereas the haunted houses are all indoors and send people through one group at a time. The exception being Cornstalkers, which is outdoors and sends people through in groups. Carnevil and Screamworks are the only areas where you can really walk as you please. Fear Faire, Blood on the Bayou, Cutthroat Cove, and Cornstalkers are all one-way paths.
I really would encourage you to make a Halloweekends trip sometime. It's a completely different atmosphere than what you get at the park any other time of year.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
*hollars*!!!!
I dont think Halloweekends is Halloweekends with out some cold weather.

*hollars!* as well. There isn't anything much better than a night ride on Millenium Force, wearing jeans and a hoodie.
