Probably because I believe they did offer it for their haunted attractions.
CP did have some version of Fright Lane last year, although it worked more like a VIP tour where someone from marketing led you around. I think it included one time through each one of the houses, as well as bypassing the line (if there was one) outside of Terror Island and Blood on the Bayou.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
Like I said, it was like a VIP tour in that the marketing people lead the groups around, but it only included the haunted attractions. They carried some weird scarecrow on a pole thing around with them. I want to say it was $75, but I don't remember if that was per group or per person.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
Oh ok. I actually remember the scarecrow now that you mention it. I wonder if it was just a haunted version of the regular VIP Tour? Just instead of rides you got the haunts.
I believe so, but I remember them calling it Fear Lane at the time. Different system, same name.

I would imagine Cornstalkers will be back... if it wasn't I think we would've heard about it by now.
So the only changes heard so far are the removal of Happy Jacks, a new Wax Museum Haunt, and the relocation of Terror Island, right? And I'm assuming that the Luminosity stage will somehow be involved with the Overlord.

That sounds like all of the changes I've heard about. Every year I wish they would release the Halloweekends info earlier than they do... It seems they wait until the very end of August/beginning of September.
I did just see today that Knotts has released their info, and it looks like they are getting an Evil Dead/Army of Darkness themed haunt. I wonder if CP will ever go the route of tying a house/attraction to a movie?
Knotts updates their houses way more than CP does. I, personally, love something fresh and new every year but it's understandable that not every park can do such things.

With the announcement on monday, I would not expect a halloweekends announcement for a while.

I also wish CP had as many haunts as Knotts.

Well the info on the new house is already out via the park so I don't think there will really be an announcement. When the Halloweekends website goes live I am sure we will hear something about the event, maybe the info on the shows but we already know about the new house.
I was sad to see Fright Zone get changed.. to me, that one should have never changed. I understand the need to keep things fresh but this one could have been an exception.
CarnEvil had such a huge update when they moved to Camp Spooky, but I think a clown-only house would be pretty neat.
I still don't really like the whole Overlord idea....just never was a fan.
And in general, I just hate how every park in the CF chain is so much alike with all of their rides and haunts. It's a Six Flags move.. but this won't change.
Great to see something going into the infield of MS. Great use for a piece of land. Sometimes I wonder if pernament haunt structures (like the new one in MS, Eerie Manor ) could be open all-season.

Most of them certainly could be used all year, but it would kind of dilute from the Halloweekends experience.

I always thought it'd be cool if CP lead the way in bringing back a year-round fun house walk through, bucking the trend of the modern amusement park.
Make the new Mean Streak building a fun house during the regular season, and transform it into a haunt during Halloweekends. Maybe that could bring extra riders to MS and improve the experience. People would forget about being beaten while in the fun house. ;)
Finally some progress on the house in the Mean Streak infield, including the sign.
