I can only see a line happening only on busy nights. Just like Terror Island there may end up being a line but on those nights in Terror Island we had the line gone by 9. It's just something new and most people see it's one way and feel it's a house so they think you have to wait so they arrive early. So don't be discouraged if you walk by and see a line, it will diminish and you can always go through any of the other amazing zones and houses until the line fades away if there is one.

I have heard so many good things about this year's show and cast. I am pumped up and hoping to see the Edge of Madness on Saturday. That is, if I can find a place to park. The weather forecast makes me think it's going to be pretty crowded by early evening.
This will be my third season in a row going to HW's opening weekend, and even with PointFest going on Saturday the crowds the past two years have been very manageable... much better than a typical Saturday during the summer. I always tell people to visit KI's Halloween Haunt early in the season because the crowds only get bigger the closer you get to Halloween, and I imagine the same would probably be true at CP too.

I didn't want to start a new thread so I thought I could ask this on this thread, what will happen to the entrances and all the paved walkways for blood on the bayou next year not during halloweeends?
They have all that paved cement and the entrances and exits and all that. Will that just be there during the regular season or will they do something with it?
Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!
I'm guessing they'll be fenced off and utilized as employee or maintenance access corridors.

There was a food cart sitting directly in front of Bayou's entrance all year. I imagine next year they'll just put the fence and cart back where they were during the regular season.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Bayou does have a narrow entry way, so I'm guessing it might back up from time to time like Terror Island's entrance does. That's probably why it's included on the VIP tour list. For the person who asked, the outdoor zones open at 7 on Sundays, 8 on Saturdays.
what about the houses? What time do they open on Fridays and Saturdays? Thanks
When you wish upon a star.....Makes no difference where you are!
Was wondering, is all the setup for HW done by full time CP maintenance/staging employees or is outside seasonal help brought in to complete? Never had the urge to be a screamster, but, putting all the pieces together that make HW would be a blast! By the way, been to many parks during Halloween season and CP is hands down the greatest! Big thanks to all you dedicated screamsters, see you last weekend in Oct!
I have never been to Halloweekends on its opening Friday. I know that you can never really predict the crowds, but what were the crowd levels like in the past on opening Friday? Do you think it will be more crowded or less crowded than other Fridays or about the same?
SSL488,
I was wondering the same thing. I would like to go tomorrow as well.
Hope someone else help out with information.
I'm going Friday and Saturday and I have also been wondering if this concert will help or hurt the crowds. Either way its gonna be a perfect weekend, weather wise.
Let's Get Weird.
SAT one day the MANTIS Line was back to the Exit of the Iron Dragon; 4 hrs. I won't wait that long. MF was also 4hrs too, and the line for TTD was all the way back to the Power Tower's Exit. Hell with Saturdays. The cars were parked on the Causeway, Grass and the Cedar Point Drive too. If you are not there look on the WEBCAMS of TTD and PAGODA Gift Shop.
Fridays are not that bad because most people are at the football games. I go almost every friday and have never waited too long for anything.
RIP DEMON DROP I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU
Fridays and Sundays are both wonderful days to be there. That is, except for one particular Sunday, the day before Columbus Day. Nightmare.

Oh no! The Monster Midway Invasion Celebration parade song just got into my head! So hard to get it out...

Some decor is done by fulltime staff while major construction and installation of larger midway decor is done by Maintenance. Anything involving lighting, fogging and special FX is done by Live Entertainment. Landscaping of course takes care of the straw bales and cornstalks you see everywhere. It is a HUGE team effort to pull it off in just under two weeks. I know some crews, such as the lighting technicians in Live E stay as late as 4am to complete lighting work.
SSL488,
I do not recall anything "special" on the opening day of Halloweekends. In fact, the only thing that may stick out (if you re-visit later in the Haunt season), is how much better everything gets as Halloweekends progresses. Like opening day of the park, there are some kinks to get worked out.

Plus, as the weeks pass by, it gets darker sooner and sooner.
Today sunset will be at 7:41. On closing day sunset will be at 6:30.
