I try to avoid bread all together (unless I go to Subway or something, then I order whole wheat), I drink 1/2% milk, and I really don't notice the difference between that and 2% so it doesn't bother me.
I can't run very far, but I do walk about 20 minutes a day with a workout excersize I recorded from cable.
I'm close to a size 18 right now, but I used to be a 24 when I first started dieting back in January.
As far as ice cream, I eat "Skinny Cow" brand on occassion, they make really good ice cream sandwiches and arn't loaded with tons of garbage that make you gain weight.
Mmmmmm... Skinny Cow.
I don't eat them all the time, but they're a nice treat.
Basically, I've been trying to stick to a general rule - "If a cave man wouldn't eat it, neither should you."
That doesn't mean I don't eat modern day foods, but I always try and eat as natural as possible. Pistachios, beef jerky, raw fish (sushi/sashimi mmmm), fresh fruits, whole grains, grilled meats with little or no sauces, but herbs and spices are OK. Generally, the less processed the food, the better.
But, of course, there's that one day a week where I eat whatever I want, and this week it just happened to be Chet and Matt's pizza buffet, beers and Captain Morgan. :-D
I actually don't drink and haven't since Dec. 20th of last year, I have a bad habit of drinking too much and not stopping, so I quit all together.
As far as beef, I only eat poultry and fish, only baked though and I stay away from processed foods like beef jerky. I hear that raw almonds are good for you, so I eat those on occassion.
Mostly I stick to fresh fruits and veggies :)
Beef jerky's not so much processed as it is salt cured and dried. There's not much else to it, but I know exactly what you're saying.
Raw almonds are good for you, but I prefer a little bit of salt. :-D

I usually use just a little bit of salt on my food too.. too much salt gives me headaches, sometimes migranes and they are hard to get rid of.
I really need to stop putting sugar on my cereal though, I'm sure I would lose more weight if I cut that out :)
Well, let's see.........I'm about 242 lbs, 5'10" but fit into a size 40" waste pants, but they are a bit tight. Much of my weight is above the waste around the gut area and upper chest. I'm also a bit broad shouldered.
I'm visiting CP in 21 days.......would it help if I lost at least another 5-7 lbs in order for me to possibly get on Millennium Force or Dragster? I'm not sure about Maverick. All the other coasters in the past I've always been fine as long as I'm under 250 lbs.
Last time I was there 2 years ago I weighed about 240 lbs and the buckle on Millennium Force test seat would partially go in but wouldn't snap unless I pulled really hard. When I got on the ride, the buckle would go in but wouldn't snap and I embarrasingly had to get off. I was able to get on Dragster last time, the buckle on that one seemed a bit looser.
I've heard rumors recently that the buckle on Millennium Force is slightly more forgiving now starting this year, but not by much. Is this rumor true?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You are in about the same range as I am, and I am able to ride both MF and Dragster. Dragster is actually now the tighter ride, since MF has slightly longer belts now. The test seat on Dragster is accurate, while the test seat on MF is a bit tighter than the actual ride (a good thing I suppose). The only ride I need a bit of a push on is WT. I just need someone to push down on the restraint a bit for me while I buckle the belt.
Oh well, I'm losing weight now, and by next season it shouldn't be a problem anymore :)

Does anyone know why the WT test seat is so high off the ground? I couldn't get into it because I couldn't lift myself up that far (needed a step-stool!!) I decided since it was close to walk-on that I would just try the real thing. Much easier to get up into (although high) and I fit fine.

Because the real thing is up high. And that's part of the issue with that ride, getting into the seat.

It was just funny to me that I couldn't get up into the test seat, but had no trouble getting up into the real thing. It was tall, but not as tall as the tester.

I wonder if they adjusted the height of the test seat when they put the padded floor down?

Ride on, MrScott!

I had a problem getting up into the test seat too. I had to get my boyfriend to give me a hand (litterly) to place both of them on my feet so I can get on the thing. Turns out I can quite get the belt to buckle, but I was very close to getting it to do that.
Maybe by the fall (when I go back again) I'll be able to ride it.
I've lost 33 pounds so far and I'm close to fitting into a size 18 (I was at size 24 at the start of the year).
I'm also 5' 6".
I am 5'3" and weigh about 235 pounds. I have never had any problem riding any roller coasters at kings island. I fit on every ride. Some were a tight fit but I was able to ride. and the height and weight requirements for their rides are almost exactly alike for cedar point and kings island. Should I be concerned about riding any rides at cedar point?
Two of the Intamin coasters (Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster) are a bit more restricting than the coasters at KI. Definitely try the test seat before spending time in line. Depending on how your weight is distributed, you may also want to check the seats on Raptor, Wicked Twister, and Mantis. I know it's embarassing to try the seats (I had to do it in the past), but it's much better than getting up to the train, and having to get off in front of all the people. Best of luck to you!

There is no way of telling really, it just depends on where u carry your weight. Just go and have fun, if you fit, you fit, if you don't, don't let it ruin your day. Try the test seats out front of the coasters that do have them, those are the ones you would most likely have problems with anyways. Wicked Twister, Dragster, Millennium, Raptor, Mantis, all have test seats with seat belts, if you get it buckled, you ride. I have not witnessed any slack having to be pulled this year on MF and Dragster.
