Guests of Exceptional Size ...

My husband and I haven't been to Cedar Point in years (okay, since high school). We're talking about going in May and I happened to stumble across the "Guests of Exceptional Size" info on their website. My husband is 6'5", 350 lbs., 42" waist, and 54" chest. He sounds really big when you lay out the numbers, but he's really very proportional and just looks like a tall, large frame guy.

Is it even worth our driving 4-1/2 hours to get there? Will he be able to ride anything?

Due to riderrestraint system requirements, guests of exceptional size may not beaccommodated on some of our rides. This may apply, but not be limited to,males who exceed 6'2", and those who exceed 225 pounds, have a 40"waistline or 52" chest or females who exceed 200 pounds or wear size18 or larger. Each person has different body proportions, so it is impossibleto determine exact size and weight.

Our larger guests may experience difficulty on Blue Streak, Chaos, Corkscrew,Disaster Transport, Mantis, Maverick, maXair, Mean Streak, Millennium Force,Mine Ride, Power Tower, Raptor, Skyhawk, Wave Swinger, Wicked Twister and TopThrill Dragster.

Looks like his problem is going to be the big chest, Im smaller then he is, and I flirt the borderline but here are the rides he may have problems with, starting with the most likely to not let him ride:

-Wicked Twister-infact Ill go out on a limb and tell you he wont fit on that, I dont, and its because my body height (waist to shoulders is just too long) so unless he has longer legs (which you said he was propotional) this one is a no go

-Raptor/Mantis-there are no "big boy" seats on these B&M coasters, but there is a test seat.

-Millennium Force/Top Thrill Dragster-It just depends on the season wither or not one has a slightly longer belt then the other. Your husband may be ok here, the people who have a problem here are typically people who a wide waist/thighs/rear end as thats where the belt is.

Maxair: Again he may be too tall to ride this one (but Im not)

Maverick: These restraints are much roomier then anything above it, he should fit on this one

Blue Streak: He will need to ride this one alone, there just isnt that much leg room and buckling the belt is a hassle. His best chance of fitting involves him sitting in a row that is a back of a car (it has a foot space under the seat in front of it) and when he gets in, bending his knees out so that his feet end up in the foot well for the other seat. That way he should be able to buckle

Mean Streak: Bigger belt but otherwise just like the Blue Streak.

Any of the other rides I would be shocked if he has a problem.

Any of the other ones, I suspect shouldnt give him

Hmmm ... sounds like he might have a problem with Millennium Force/Top Thrill Dragster then. He is proportional, but even he will be up front and tell you he's got a big butt and thighs. We've got the worst time trying to find jeans and stuff for him - they all just seem too narrow through the thighs.

Sounds like we've got some thinking to do.

FYI: Last year I fit on everything but WT.

I am 6'5", 275 lbs, a 42" waist and a 54" chest and pretty proportional also. The only coaster that I could not fit on is Milli. And that only barely (I can get the belt to the buckle, and in, it just will not clasp) Dragster is a little tight but I can fit, and Blue Streak is even tighter but not a problem.
The only other one I watch out for is Mine Ride because they won't let you cross your legs on the other side, they have to be in front of you. I can fit but my knees are rubbing against the front (and it hurts!)

Last year I couldn't fit on the Mine Ride. I'm 5 foot 6 inches, I now wiegh 246 (down from 266), most of my weight is distributed in my lower abdomen/stomach area, other than that I'm not really big chested or have big shoulders. I have a 53 inch waist.

I can tell you I was able to fit on Raptor, I didn't try out the MF or TTD, I knew for a fact I wouldn't fit those (I had a friend come with me one year who wore a size 18 pants and she barely got on TTD). I wear a little bit bigger than that, also I really don't have a desire to ride something that goes that high up.

Gemini, Disaster Transport, Raptor, Wild Cat, Maverick and Iron Dragon were never a problem for me.

Thanks for the tip on Mean Streak though, looks like I'll have to ride alone on that one.

Hi I am 6'4" 270 # and losing fast. I have never had a problem fitting into coasters, KI and GL fit into any coaster I wanted to. Does anyone think I will have problems w/ MF TTD or Maverick? I have not been to the park in about 4-5 Years. Any thoughts? Btw I have a 38-40 in waist and hips and legs are pretty normal. Thanks !!!

You are pretty close to me. MF and WT are touch and go with me. One time I can fit, another time, I can't (although WT has more to do with shoulders than stomach). Maverick is not an issue at all. I don't remember TTD being a problem last time I tried either.

I know this is an old topic but, I just returned from CP and I fit into all coaster except TTD. If you read above I'm 6'4" 270#. My problem with dragster was my hips, it had nothing to do with my waist. I was about 2 inches short of connecting my ride belt. Btw a ride operator at Maverick told me the seatbelts were shortened this year. What I do not understand is that I fit into MF just fine (both intamin coasters) you would think the seatbelts would be the same since no inversions, but I guess not. Hope this old topic helps someone. I was at the park June 2-3 2008. Oh well my diet must continue.

THUNDERBEAST

I don't really know about TTD's belts being shortened this
year but the MF belts are definately longer.

TTD is the same size as best I could tell.

I am going on what i was told by a ride operator at maverick. Btw during a light mist of rain, I noticed they continued running TTD but, they were only loading half trains (only front half) does this have to do with the rain? Secondly, 2 trains had to be relaunched and we thought one was going to stop atop the top hat. It barely crept over , myself and others watching thought it was going to get stuck. any info?

btw my first sentence is to reference DRose and bholcomb sorry for the confusion.

THUNDERBEAST

What I don't understand is why are the seatbelts so short. If a seatbelt is 10 feet long it will hold whoever is using it as securely as a seatbelt of say 4 feet as long as it is cinched (sp?) up. What is the problem?

I guess their logic is that someone is too large to fit in
the ride with the belts at their current length is too large
to be properly restrained. Most of the accidents with people
being thrown from coasters are considerably larger people.
I don't know for sure but that's my guess.

I'm just happy they made the Mean Streak seatbelts the way they did this year. I've lost 31 1/2 pounds so far since the beginning of the year. I still can't fit Wicked Twister though, but I'm VERY close to it.

^ Good job on losing so much weight! :) It took me forever and a day to just lose 11 pounds. lol.

"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"

Thank you Jesz. My trick is to not eat fattening food, no fast food, no sugary pop, excersize and watch all the calories I'm eating.

It's not easy to not eat fast food, and I no longer eat at Cedar Point, I bring my own food, it saves money and I can bring food with me that I can eat that won't make me gain weight.

Water, water and more water to drink too.

I also quit drinking anything with caffiene and that certainly helps a lot.

Good luck with your weight loss :)

Thanks. :) I pretty much just wanted to lose the extra pregnancy wieght. I am only about 5 to 7 lbs away.

"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"

Cut out the carbs, sugar, non-whole grain foods, fast food, and anything fattening basically. Run 3x a week at least for 30-40 minutes.

Adjusting your diet and just having a regular work out regime = key.

By the time you know it you'll be a size 3.

Soda is horrrrrible though. So is fast food. You slaughter anything you have going for you if you eat that or HEAVY MILK PRODUCTS. Avoid ice cream and all that crap.

Maybe once a week. Oh yeah..no deep fried foods period. My girlfriend tells me that I care wayyy too much about my looks, or what I have left of looks. Hawhawhaw...
