Okay, sounds like it's all getting set, so I'm happy. We still got about 3 months until the park even opens, but my brother and I probably won't make our first trip to CP until the first part of June, because that's when he gets out of school at the Oklahoma University. But I called him up and he says it's cool and he's in, so we'll try to get this all planned in more detail in about a month or so. Joe, if you're in we'll try and get a date to go that's good for everybody. You might want to find a partner to ride with unless you're cool sitting alone. We can get sticks and sword fight across trains or something to keep entertained. Kelly, you sound like the coolest, I hope you can help us out. I'm stoked and hope this will just add to a great summer at CP!!!
P.S. My name isn't Hand Smacker, it's David, for the record. Don't let anybody else know, though...*hush hush*

good luck david and joe! have fun.

I'm so stoked about this event now. It gives me something to look forward to
this year. Last year it was the Force, this year it's this. I should try and change my name back to Gemini Dream in honor of this occasion
OK, Gemini Han.. I mean David (your secret identity is safe with me ;) ), the first week in June CP is open till 10 PM is the 10th-17th, so if your brother is out by then, how does that or the week after sound?
I was also thinking about T-shirts for this for the day of the event. They would say something like; Gemini, power rider, 100 laps, 1 coaster, 1 day. Of course that would be saying we already did this so we may have to get them made after.
Also thanks Kelly for helping us out. I can't wait to hear those spiels, they may be even more funny than usual, if that's possible. Think, we may spend more time on the platform than you that day :) In our victory speech, will be sure to mention you. You will probably see me before that date because I will have about 100 warm up laps in before that date. I' will get your autograph then ;)

Joe, that's a great shirt idea. It'd be cool to ride with them on, but I don't know. Odds are against us doing it, but a miracle may happen. Wouldn't it be terrible if we got to like 95 or even worse 99 and they stopped us? Oh, I'm crazed about this right now. I still can't imagine what it might be like to do this all day. Those dates sound good to me, and yeah, Kelly is the bomb. Anything she does to help will be an act from a goddess...

What's even worse if we are on lap 100 and we are stopped at the top of the lift and have to walk down. Well, if that happens I will walk the rest of the way, I always wanted to do that anyway.
More on the shirt idea, so we can sport them while riding. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd like to here them. They would say
Cedar Point
Gemini (BIG)
Power Rider
One coaster
One day
non stop riding
The shirts would be blue or red with gold writing (guess why?).I'm still looking into the cost for 3 or 4 of these baby's. Should not cost that much though.

Cool thread everyone. You got me excited for you. Good luck, keep us posted.

:) "Did you know this goes up-side down" :)
Hey Joe! I want one of those shirts! I've already told Da--- I mean Hand Smacker :) that if you guys are successful then my ATL and I are going to hook you up with official Gemini 2001 crew shirts.
We have the utmost faith in you guys!

Gemini ATL 2000/TL 2001
9 positions in 4 1/2 hours and still keepin' both sides happy!
Hey, you guys should go to Coastermania and do it!
If you are part of a club, you could get in much earlier than other than the GP. You could go ride Raptor, Mantis, or Blue Streak in the morning, and when they let the ropes down, you guys can make a mad dash to Gemini. This would get you started on some free-riding before anyone else gets there. (This will also insure that I can see you accomplishing your "impossible" feat :)) Then after the park closes, you could still get on Magnum and MF! I think that would be awesome! I'd definitely recognize you guys in your stylish T-shirts. :)
have you been to CP on coastermania day?? A Bit busy there..they'd still be better off picking a early may day or october day...

http://www.msu.edu/~armbrus9/cp.html mf laps = 100! No More No Less!!
I went last year and it wasn't very busy around Gemini.

We've planned to do it sometime in early June. Can't make May because of my brother's college, so as early June as possible is when I want to do it. Kelly is being extremely supportive, and with the 2001 Gemini Crew shirts as incentive, how can we fail??? We'll announce later when we plan the exact date for the attempt...er success!! I hope some of you can visit and cheer us on (and try not to trip us on our mad dashes through the queue line :) ). Joe, the shirt designs sound great. Let us know when you have more info on prices and style. It'll probably be best to hold on to them throughout the day until we get close to our goal, then whip 'em on. Thanks a lot guys for the support and encouragement. We'll try not to disappoint.

Question: How do you explain the actions of millions of people who wait hours upon hours to be dropped down a hill 100 times in one day???
Answer: You don't...
If I work on the Gemini again this summer, I will root you on. Perhaps you can just sit in the trains without leaving and do the marathon thing. We could take 4 trains off and do a series of non-stop Flanigans, eh Kelly?
I'm willing to bet with my 80+ days I spend at CP a summer.. I can break 1000.. hehehehe
I'm already thinking of a bet someone wants to place for 500 Mine Rides this season.
I'm already planning my strategy for 300 MF. Came close last year, god bless Milennium Mania.

MF 2000 - 269 laps
That would be cool Geminazi! All you guys would have to do is rope off a section or two of queues in the station!

And get teh TL's to agree.. and the Silver Tags... and not mind hearing guests complain about 'prefered treatment'..
Now if it was set through the Op's office, I could see it happening but with ride ops planning it, one person gets upset and reports it to the wrong person and all hell could break loose.

MF 2000 - 269 laps
I think I speak on behalf of the challengers on that we don't want any heads to roll just for our benefit. I for one don't want to cause any more work or trouble because your jobs are hard enough as it is. If I saw some people getting special treatment, I would be kind of upset although I may think it was some kind of event. Who knows what other people would think and do. These are the same incoherent peeps that refuse to move to the middle of the platform and clog up the entrances. (This brings up another tip/point is that we should sit in the middle for shorter waits AND most importantly, in the middle we should get more hand smacks :) )
I think when GHS first thought of his brilliant plan, it was with the idea that the crew would not give any help. Since Gemini Princess and now Geminazi ( I love that name, quite clever :) ) have shown interest in helping us, it has given us more hope on actually reaching 100.
As mention before any help would be a godsend, as long as it's no trouble.

Joe
I have nothing but support for you guys!
If you want another person (wink, wink) let me know.. (nudge nudge)

-The Pants Has Spoken
"Yellow line? What Yellow Line..."
Absolutely right, Joe. We don't want Kelly, Erica,Geminzia or any of the Gemini crew to get into any kind of problems at our expense. To tell you the truth, when I first proposed this, it was kind of just to see what you guys would say. I was expecting jeers at the thought, and "it can't be done" talk. But Joe, you've been excellent, it will be great riding with you, and Kelly has been very sporting, giving us incentives and possible Gemini stardom on the day of the attempt. Yes, I originally planned to try this with no help (because it's kinda weird) but I can't complain if we get anything to push our total up. What I'm trying to say is....THIS IS GONNA ROCK, BABY!!!
