Geauga Lake letter on Website

Bainbridge didn't want any development. The park had to take them to court to get a waiver for the Skycoaster. The park always won though so it really didn't stop their plans.

smoke 'em if you got 'em

Even though the letter was released a couple days ago. Does this mean they'll let us know on there eventually what is going where?

Well...hotels around the city will definitly suffer...

They've started the deconstruction of Thunderhawk and Dominator.

I knew those 2 would be the first to go.

Its amazing how muich deconstruction has taken place even though they only decided a week ago to close the place. They bought it to kill it and anyone who thinks otherwise is dreaming.

Coasterdad,

So what if they are taking out ONLY two rides. That doesn't mean crap. The decision was made last Friday as they said. Since you are a GL fan, are you just coming here to start stuff?

If anything you are.

101 on Magnum and counting...

Nope, not me. I just come here to post about CP.

They are probably starting on the Steel coasters first because it's easier to take them down. It takes longer to tear down the wooden coasters like Raging Wolf Bobs, Big Dipper, and Villian. It sucks that it didn't work out for Geauga Lake. I liked their collection of coasters they had when it was Dominator, Thunder Hawk, Villian, and X-Flight. I have been having dreams about it. Even though I always thought Cedar Point has always been more fun, I always thought Geauga Lake was unique in it's own way. It really sucks they have to close it down, but I understand Cedar Fairs decision.

I am only here to state what is most likely the truth cpboy. There is no way they could have all that machinery on site in one day. This was decided months or even years ago. The truth will come out soon.

No one is arguing that Dominator and Thunderhawk had their fate sealed long ago coasterdad. Those have been rumored to have been taken out almost all year.

I agree with you coasterdad I have always thought that CF was going to turn GL into the biggest water park in the east. GL's water park was always the biggest draw there.

Really? It seems like you have post a number of times in this GL topic and by those post you act like you know everything.

That is an accurate statement if you believed the “rumors” Jason. Up until Sept 21st CF said nothing and that it was all rumors started by 16 year olds on the internet. We were lied to so that Dick could get what he wanted.

Although if you are a regular poster here you have already been lobotomized by the CF BS machine so never mind.

There are rumors that have some semblance of being true and some that are just pie in the sky rumors. I don't even have an "in" at the parks like most people on here do and I heard the ride side was closing down months ago. There are just certain things you believe and certain things you don't believe.

There's really a lot of other things to be annoyed at in this life. Just let it go. Geauga lake wasn't making money. They're closing it down. Even if CF just bought it to close it down, Six Flags still wasn't making money on it and it would have suffered the same fate.

And no matter what you're told, you've already got the "truth" determined in your mind regardless of any lack of proof.

Who's the brainwashed one?

^^^If Cedar Fair hadn't bought it, then wouldn't Kennywood have had the winning bid back in 2004? My memory may be wrong but I seem to remember that KE was in the running to buy SFWoA.

Who knows what would have happened if they had succeeded. Unlike Cedar Fair, Kennywood doesn't seem to mind having another amusement park (Idlewild) within an hour of its flagship park.
