Gatekeeper Test runs

^They probably haven't put the softer wheels on yet.

The point of the test runs are to start with soft wheels and gradually replace them with the hard wheels. Once the trains are running with full weight at a speed they are comfortable with, they'll stop replacing wheels.

Or something like that.

I went to Sandusky yesterday, and Gatekeeper was testing. It really does look amazing, especially going through the keyholes.

Sitting here at Battery Park Marina watching Gatekeeper test runs. I've timed the trains. It seems about 1 min. 12 seconds on average for every time the train crests the lift hill. And they do seem to be a little faster. Can't wait for media day!!!

Wow! Gatekeeper is looking great! Talk about progress with the plaza's! I would have never thought Disaster Transport was ever there. Except for Halloweekends and the gravestone. Anyway, I'm really liking the speed so far. It surely doesn't have all it's hard wheels yet so it will go faster. Also, this is a winged coaster... It's big... The speed is deceptive. For example: when you watch a big plane coming for a landing it seems like you could drive your car faster than it when it's really flying up to 200+mph. Also, when your on Gatekeeper it'll seem a whole lot faster. (Wait for the POV) It's going to be a great ride.

I hope they paint the exit gift shop building another color over the beige as it looks so plain. (if they leave it beige, that is)

Cedar Point just posted a video on Vine showing the ride operators on GateKeeper training and there are NO on-ride cameras so we can cross that out.

This in and of itself is worth the multimillion dollar price-tag.

I probably should have done that! Most people probably don't know what Vine is.

Awesome to see the webcams are back. I truly missed them and regret anything I said that may have triggered Tony to turn off the webcams. I'm sorry dude!

First person who posts a pic of a train going through the keyhole on the keyhole webcam wins an awesome prize!

No trees were harmed in the sending of this message, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

To anyone who has been watching the webcams, have you noticed (assuming they are into 2 train testing) if the trains are in fact different colors or all the coppery color of the train in all pictures I've seen?
