GateKeeper plaza and new main entrance

2jordanr: No problem. I answered everyones questions and I think they're satisfied. Just to let everyone know, all the info I gave was stuff that was allowed to be released. It was not going to put my friends job at risk. He told me that It was all stuff that could be shared. I am still willing to participate in forum discussion despite everyones recent change of opinion. Thanks for everyones questions!

^I'm glad you could answer some of our questions. You covered several areas I was wondering about, and now everyone can look forward to seeing the final details in pictures or actually in person once it opens.

I just think its funny how no one ripped on Kiefz015 until the "almighty" Jeff said anything. I mean, really? For what its worth, thanks Kiefz015 for all your info.

I Agree with you. IMO if it bothers them they can just scroll past the posts and not read them. Im sure the park is smart enough to know that its impossible to keep secrets nowadays.

^ agreed

I think JuggaLotus and Tennessee_CP_Fan would disagree. Maybe one of those guys control the minions? :)

The only thing Dear Leader said early on was that someone might find themselves out of a job. His other post was in regards to how we've seen this movie before. Not exactly the most brutal post ever - or even in this thread. If anything, I think many of the posts merely showed friendly concern.

Bottom line, you can't cherry-pick parts of a thread in order to substantiate a pre-existing opinion.

Darn, Walt beat me to it. Oh well, still going to post it. I put too much time typing it. :P

Some of you are still missing the point. It's not a "riffing", a bashing or any other synonym related to some kind of harsh criticism. It's friendly warning to simply be careful what you post. There are contracts that limit the kinds of information that can and can't leave the construction site (I've had to deal with them myself). It's just not wise to give out details about something that isn't suppose to be talked about.

Does the info get out? Most of the times yes. Do people get in trouble? If it's traceable, then yes. The point here is Cedar Point officials DO read these forums and look for employees (or others) giving out information that shouldn't be out. And, not to mention, it can look bad for the site and for Walt/Jeff who are very close with the park and make things (like off season tours) possible. So, it's not something that will just get "scrolled over"........sorry. At some point, something was going to be said to kiefz about the information he was sharing.

And that's your word against ours. If it's truly ok, then share away. Don't let what some of us say shun you away from Pointbuzz. In the end, it's all with good intention and is, like I said, a friendly warning. Just know that this whole "everyone is against you" thing isn't true. :)

I'm sure it's not every single topic. The point is that they DO visit the site.

Really? I'd love them to post here more often. It's fun talking with Don Helbig on Kings Island's forum.

Yeah, Walt, I'm inclined to agree with you - but let's deal straight here; Our beloved master hasn't exactly been known for his subtle, sugar-coated posts over the years. And he certainly hasn't been short changed in the ball busting department *chuckling* including my own on occasion which is just fine. I for one enjoy the bantering back and forth and delight in the entertainment value it brings - not to mention that being around here since this whole wonderful experience began, I've long since come to realize that it goes with the territory. And depending on who you are, dictates the degree of wrath, if any, that will be reigned down upon you.

Now, as for all the "top secret" and "confidential information" that's supposedly being given away here ... We have a 4,000 ft long, 170 ft high monster coaster being built at the front of the park with a brand new entrance, plaza area and theming to go with it - the price tag of which, detailed specs and countless other tidbits have already been announced to the entire world via internet and God knows what other kind of marketing agent - but yet somehow, some way, this kid breached proper protocol and/or company policy and etiquette by exclaiming and releasing some privileged knowledge unknown to ALL ????? Really ?! Somehow I just don't find that to be the case and especially don't see it as all that big of a deal. So, as they say on a particular NFL show, "Come On, Man!!!"

...one thing I can absolutely guarantee .. It won't make one ounce of a difference to CP or anyone else when it's all said and done.

Unless, as some have warned, someone ends up losing their job as a result of information being shared without appropriate approval. So no, you can't make any such guarantee.

Not saying that's what will happen, but that is the possibility over which some were rightfully expressing concern.

Sure I can make that guarantee, DJ - because 1) It's a complete exaggerated over reaction - and B) *for you National Lampoon Vacation fans* the poster did absolutely nothing wrong. All the info he/she gave, from what I read, has already been released - therefore, there was No violation concerning appropriate approval. So NO, nobody is going to be fired. Plus, we're talking about a ride in an amusement park, not a traitor selling out his country.

And all this keeping in mind that it isn't coming from just someone wanting to screw with us.

I agree with Walt...and I will be the first to admit that my posts were stronger/more brutal than Jeff's.

As far as the Super Stew and DJ disagreement goes, you have to remember that confidentiality extends to far more than just national security issues as Super Stew implies. I signed a confidentiality agreement at my work, but 99% of the population could give a rat's ass about my job and what I know. Its that 1% that doesn't need to know that matters.

I don't know how much they care, or if they're actively doing anything about it, but the fact that I got an email from someone at the park on this issue tells me the level of concern is far from zero.

I wasn't implying that confidentiality related to national security only. I was however giving an example of a matter that at the very least, seems a little silly.

Seriously, Walt ?? Is this email anything you can share ?? Or is it a big secret as well ? ;) If this is the case, and I have no reason to doubt you, it would seem to me CP is being a little knit picky and aren't focusing their attention where they need to.

Since someone at CP sent Walt an email regarding the issue, I'd say your guarantee has been busted pretty soundly.
