Not sure how I will function on only 3 hours of sleep
My sleep time relies on how the wings game goes.... Might have to have someone carry me in line while I sleep.

For me its about experiencing the ride, but would love some camera time! Already have the Gatekeeper sweatshirts for me and my husband. Have to mention that he is going just for me because he has a bad back and cannot ride! Gotta give credit for CP shop....they found me a medium sweatshirt with some effort. They did a great job to get me ready for "MEDIA DAY".
I know this has been discussed, but honestly cannot find where in the threads. Can you wear shirts with logos? Gatekeeper I would think would be okay but what about a Coastermania or regular Cedar Point shirt?

The email said Cedar Point shirts are OK.
I didn't get an email with the appropriate attire details. (just double checked by searching). Care to post specifics?

VERY IMPORTANT DETAILS!
To be admitted into this event, you must (1) Have previously registered for the event on the Cedar Point Media Event webpage and (2) provide a valid GOCC membership card at check-in at the park on May 9. If you're bringing a guest or family member, they must also be a valid member of a recognized coaster club and have their membership card with them. Each individual attending the event MUST HAVE PREVIOUSLY REGISTERED SEPARATELY.
The Media Preview event begins at 4 a.m. You are welcome to join us at any time during the day, noting that the event will wrap up around 6:30 p.m. Complimentary breakfast and lunch will be served.
During the event, you're welcome to ride GateKeeper while it's in operation. However, please keep in mind that this is a working media event, so expect a few "starts and stops" throughout the day to ensure the media has the video and interviews they require. Seating, including row choices and repeat rides, is not guaranteed at any time throughout the day. Be prepared to be patient!
On Thursday, May 9, all you need to do is arrive at Cedar Point, walk up to their awesome new main entrance and Guest Services and show your membership card, and you will be good to go. We're told that they've got some awesome surprises up their sleeves that day too, so this is one event you don't want to miss!
Please remember that you are representing GOCC at this event. You need to follow GOCC’s code of conduct, ride safely, all rules of the park and honor requests by the park representatives during this event.
If you interact with the media that day, we suggest talking in sound bites -- the shorter and more concise your answers, the better. Also, use only positive words. Know your GOCC facts: GOCC was established in 1992 and has approximately 850 members in 17 states and Canada. GOCC is dedicated to enjoyment of roller coasters, both wood and steel. We're there for Cedar Point. Mention GateKeeper and Cedar Point frequently. Don't mention other parks. If reporters ask about other parks or other coasters that you like, indulge them minimally to illustrate how well traveled and knowledgeable you are, but steer the conversation back to Cedar Point.
Start warming up your screaming voice and get ready to fly on Cedar Point’s latest world-record-breaking wing roller coaster
ACCOMMODATIONS
The Media Preview starts early, so the Cedar Point Accommodations Team is offering special rates at Castaway Bay for GOCC members visiting for the media event. The rates are for the room only as the waterpark will not be open. Special rates starting at $79/night are available for Wednesday, May 8 and/or Thursday, May 9th.
Please click on the link below for room options and costs. This link will pre-populate the block code and the dates that rate is available.

Long stuff you can read above
Ah, so it was a club specific email. Explains why I didn't see one then ;) . So pretty much wear Apparel for your coaster club or cedar point or blank shirt. Thanks!
I'll be there around noon. My first event as a member of the GOCC. I'm with most of you, I'd much rather ride around the media schedules than the possible 5 hour and up wait times we could be seeing opening day.
By the way; with those 3 missing girls just rescued in Cleveland there might not be as many news crews attending as expected. 3 girls held captive for 10 years gets higher ratings and more viewers than a new wingrider.

I think the various news outlets would have more than one news van. And I doubt they'd need every van to cover just that one bit of news. Gatekeeper may not be as important as the rescued girls but it's still pretty important. And they will definitely be there to cover its opening.

A big thank you to CP for a fantastic event. The amount and variety of free food and drinks was very gracious. The extra surprise of Raptor and MF was a fun, unexpected treat. A great day overall and Gatekeeper is a great ride and a really beautiful addition to the park.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,

Gatekeeper was great fun... Cedar Point hosted a wonderful event, it really was top notch. The entrance looks simply stunning. Love the ride plaza as well.
Thank you Cedar Point for an amazing day!

This was my first Media Day event and I must say it was one of the best experiences of my life. Woke up at 2:30am to get as much riding in as possible. Got a solid 25 laps on GateKeeper and met a bunch of great enthusiast from GOCC, TPR, ACE, and many others. It was great seeing some familiar faces like Rob Alvey and of course Tony. I even saw Tyler from the old pointcast. Got a couple rides in on Millenium and Raptor as well. Overall a VERY successful media day. Just out of curiosity how many laps did you guys get to take on GateKeeper on media day?
Coaster Bucket List: 1) Fury 325 2) Leviathan 3) Intimidator 305 4) Kingda Ka 5) Formula Rosa
I "only" got 21 laps.
Towards the end you didn't even have to leave your seat. Unfortunately I was starting to feel a little queasy (THANKS, MIDWAY BUFFET!!) and had to call it quits around 6:45PM.
What a fantastic day. I made sure to thank everyone at CP that I could for their generous inclusion of us coaster freaks on such a special day.
I apologize to anyone who was inconvenienced by my crutching/crutches today lol. For the love of roller coasters i wasnt going to let a bummed knee stop me today! Today was a first class event put on by CP. Very well done and $30 Million well spent!!
I was able to get 19 Gatekeeper, 10 Millennium, and 6 Raptor rides in for Media Day. It was really a great event. Thanks to everyone who allowed us to attend! I was interviewed by a station from South Bend. And Gplez90, you looked like you were doing just fine on those crutches. Never bothered me!
Gplez90, I think I saw you in the station on your crutches and you did great, no inconvenience at all. I know what you are going through as I broke my upper femur in a skiing accident in mid-February. On crutches for two months, just starting to walk close to 100% without the crutches. Hope you get better soon!
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
