I have to pay $5.50 a gallon - CASH. No credit accepted. Luckily my truck only holds like 12 gallons.
Of course, 12 gallons goes a long way when you can only drive 5 miles before falling into the ocean . . .

Thank you Dj...makes sense.Oh well, it's probably not a good idea to buy a car without driving it first. You reinforced my thoughts, but man,it sure looks good in the pictures :(
DJ and I actually agree on something. I don't think I would ever purchase a car that had been wrecked and "restored", unless I had personally overseen every step of the process, or 100% trusted the individual who restored it. That is a very risky path.
Also, typically, restoring a car sometimes negates warranties, etc...depending on how it was done. All in all, risky.
There's a reason those pictures looked so good! ;)
Unexpected? Did your past vehicle blow it's last breath of pollution? Did you find a tree with money growing on it?
It was very unexpected, as in, the compressor to the air conditioner locked up, started over-heating and started burning the serpentine belt and various electricla connections, causing a chain reaction of events leading to about a $1500 repair bill. I am no spending 1500 to repair a 10 year old vehicle with 167,000 miles on it.
And I haven't found that tree with money growing on it...I'm not quite sure what the joke was there...

I got a 2007 Cobalt...this was a very unexpected purchase, and with a new little one on the way in September we needed something very affordeable, plus being the son of a GM retiree we get a nice little GM discount. 0% interest to boot! You'll all be so proud of me in that I voluntarily opted for the smaller engine (4 cylinder) which gets even better gas mileage.
Three cheers for Captain Planet!
It's still about 3.20 or so in Cowtown (Columbus)
Good Choice. I own 2 and lease 1. Yes, 3 Chevy Cobalts in my stable. I like some of the standard features like Speed Sensitive Wipers and the Driver Info Center. Jugga John owns one as well.
The 2 I own is one Sedan and an SS/SuperCharged that is race ready (roll cage and stripped putting down 288 Hp at the ground and 295 at the fly wheel) My daily driver is a leased 2 dr coupe with a 5 speed. I average about 41 mpg on a trip to cedar point. Only 10 miles of that trip involves any stop n go.

Somebody convince me that I should bite the bullet and become green.I found a 2002 Prius on E Bay car sales for $9800.It looks perfect and has under 79K on it.It had been wrecked, but has been totally restored with Toyota parts.Any of you car experts have any thoughts about that?
Nope. Don't buy a wrecked anything if you plan on it being your work horse. I bet the house that battery has maybe 3 years left on it.

At least you didn't say you bought a Prius, I would have had to tell you to go hug a tree.
Thats ok, I bought a prius so perhaps I can eliminiate enough pollution for both of us by just not driving to cedar point this season ... I'm just going when the honors camp I am a counselor for PAYS me to go ride the rides and eat the food...
