Gas at $3.25,will affect attendance

There are a lot of cards out there with no annual fees. Also, most credit card companies give you a number you can call to opt out of having your information sold to other companies. So if you don't carry a balance, it is quite possible to get some good deals with credit cards.

Gas prices have never stopped us from going to CP, its just a kick in the gut thats all.

3.25 now is in the rear view mirror.Just got back from CP less than an hour ago, and found the prices in Kewanee at $3.29

Good thing I got as high as 36MPG during our trip to Pa. and CP.

Gas station by work this morning was at $3.499.

Not happy about that.

Goodbye MrScott

Well gas is now $3.70,this just really kills,do i hear $4.00.

I can visualize the amount of red ink required in the big 3 2007 annual reports.

Don't give the Gas companies any ideas. :)

Wow, we're still around $3.09 in PA.

Ride on, MrScott!

Gas is up to $3.599 in my area of Indiana. This is really a drain on the wallet, especially when you're a teenager that is lucky to get scheduled 4 hours a week. Luckily I only have to put up with that for another week or two, and then its off to a job I won't have to worry about not getting hours this summer.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

I filled up down the street from my work in Brook Park yesterday afternoon for $3.09. By the time I got to work this morning the same gas stations were up to $3.49. The industry is just crazy....but what the hell can you do about it?

We took my wife's Freestyle to CP this Sunday. It was 122 miles roundtrip and we got 23 mpg. I had filled up her tank that morning for $3.14 so the trip cost us $16.64. At $3.49 it will cost $18.50 to go this weekend. So basically I'm saying that a 40 cent per gallon gas increase will still cost me less than 20 ounces of soda at the park :)

I have zero sympathy for people who complain about gas prices when they drive cars that get poor fuel economy.

I think 23 mpg is pretty good for a car that can fit my family of 4 with a car seat, full sized cooler, stroller and luggage.

<<Putting on my smug hybrid driver hat>>

36 MPG is not good, its bad... I drive an almighty Toyota Prius so I have averaged 52.3 MPG over my last 1200 miles of driving... over 21,000 miles of ownership I have an overall summer/winter-city/highway combined average of 48 MPG...

While I don't like $3.60 any more than y'all... it isn't quite as terrifying when I know that $25.00 worth of gas (my tank will hold about 10 gallons) will get me at least 400 miles in warm weather (perhaps 300 in sub-zero winter weather)... So y'all need to get ready to trade in the suv's for a toyota hybrid... in the year 2007 there is really no reason for cars to get less than 40MPG... and reports are saying the 2009 prius will get 80+ US mpg... I cant wait to trade up to that!

BTW you can fit five adults plus luggage comfortably in a Prius... I know from experience... ;-)

Yea, that was an awfully smug hat that you put on there.... not everyone is capable of buying a brand new hybrid. My 1994 Toyota Paseo gets roughly 34 mpg (which isn't too bad considering its got 230,000 miles). New technology is lovely for those who can afford it. But don't be an ass to those who cannot afford to incur the debt of buying a brand new car.

Yes, but can you fit 3 people plus a baby in a car seat, full sized cooler, stroller, and luggage in a Prius? If so, take a picture!

Wow, this is a very unkind post... First, I would just like to make it clear that I am not some super-wealthy elite with millions of dollars to spend... Before I was driving my Prius I was driving a used 2002 VW Beetle and before that my grandmothers 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass....

For me the Prius was both a practical AND economical decision... My monthy payments for the Prius are $5.40 more than they were on my loan for the Beetle... I also recieved a $3150 federal tax credit for the purchase of the vehicle which offset the higher cost of the hybrid drivetrain (and I applied that credit back to my loan repayment). Additionally, given the fact that I now have just over 20,000 miles on my prius since April 14, 2006 (when it was delivered after a 2 1/2 month wait) I am averaging at least 20 miles a gallon more than I was getting in my Beetle (which was in itself a 'relatively' fuel efficient, albiet small, vehicle... The combination of the federal tax credit, auto insurance credits, and significant fuel savings has made the Prius an affordable option for me.

I do not claim that driving a Prius is for everyone, although I would encourage anyone to at least take a look at it and then make that decision for themselves... As a relatively broke college student myself, I have made sacrifices in my lifestyle to pay for my auto loan (less movie tickets, name brand foods, and beer), but I feel it was the right decision for me... especially considering I will be completing my student teaching next year and commuting 70 miles round trip each day from Bowling Green to my placement site and back...

However, to call me an "ass" was completely unnecessary and unwarranted. I wish I could go out and get a plasma tv but I cannot afford that in my present fianacial suituation. Do I hurl insults at people who recommend I trade up to a plasma TV to get the best HDTV signal? NO. Do I call people who live in larger and fancier houses than me nasty names? NO. And finally am I going to call you rotten name? No... I can only hope that your comment to me was an isolated incident and not an indication of a more widespread anger-management issue...

Well... this was fun to write at 2:02 AM... I have class tomorrow afternoon so I shall now remove my teacher hat, place it in the bin with my hybrid driver hat and put on my sleeping cap... :-) *** Edited 5/23/2007 8:04:36 AM UTC by Andrew VanAtta***

3 Adults, Baby in carseat, cooler, stroller, and luggage? Definitely could do it... now if it was 4 adults and baby with all that, it would be a challenge but probably doable (is 'doable' a word?)

I'll see what I can figure out on the picture.. Im not sure where to find a carseat or a stroller...

OK, now im am going to sleep... Goodnight! *** Edited 5/23/2007 6:16:23 AM UTC by Andrew VanAtta***
