Games added to the BS Midway

Looks like you would be lucky to squeeze in 2 people side by side in the narrower parts.

I've had similar thoughts, but the webcam doesn't really give a good sense of scale. At the narrowest part of the marina entrance midway, two cement trucks could probably pass side-by-side. And while that may not seem very big, another thing to consider is that most folks will probably head to Valravn via the BS plaza, and will exit the same way.

On the other hand, beautiful as the new Gemini midway may be, it is absolutely claustrophobic on busy days. And don't even get me started on the mess that is Celebration Plaza. With recent additions, it seems P&D is determined to squeeze every last drop of usable space out of what used to be nice, wide midways.

Brandon

Dj, I see where you're coming from. Instead of straight edge midways, they're going for more rounded edges which in turn creates more congestion. And I agree with you 100% on the Celebration plaza. That thing is a mess

At least the area where STR was located is appropriately open, blank and green... just waiting for a future development.

Man, looking at this image, that's going to be one tight midway. Looks far narrower here than via the webcam.

Brandon

That does seem narrow but I think it looks great, can't wait to see it in person.

I think that is only one half, the round planter is in the middle and you can go around either to the left or right kind of like a traffic circle.

than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

That's the way it looks in the renderings as well, theres more likely much more room than some of the pictures make it appear.

I think the stone work in the area looks great, so much better than plain concrete.

Yes, you can go around the circular allowance for the support base. But look further down, between the tree and support. That's a pretty serious bottleneck there.

That is looking from the walkway that goes from the marina gate to the main midway. The new midway looks like it will be very tight, even worse than the one pictured.

This is the bottleneck I'm talking about.

I don't think most people will be using the new walkway to get to Valravn. Most traffic will probably use the Blue Steak midway since the entrance and exit are both close to Blue Streak.

I wonder where they'll put any necessary queue overflow.

I'm wondering if there will be any new lockers nearby. It was confirmed Valravn will be a no loose article ride. There aren't many lockers nearby that I know of.

There's a covered area to the south (left in the image below) of the Valravn photo booth/gift shop that will presumably have lockers.

Here's another angle:

I get that curve midways might be more visually appealing, but they could have saved a lot of room by having it straight along there. I'd like to hope they've thought about it and know it won't be a problem.

Yeah, that walkway leading to the Marina gate has been pretty desolate in the past, but I agree that it will probably see much more foot traffic now. Mature or not, I do think if the 2 trees (above the arrow in Brandon's pic above) would have been removed, it would definitely helped the traffic flow in this area by having a wider walkway. They could have planted new ones in Valrvan's infield.

Better yet, why not just build the midway around that tree?

It almost looks like it could be peaceful there.

Even if traffic on that path doubles, there will still be plenty of room. In the past, only Famous Dave's guests, boaters or Cedars employees used that path. I really don't see that changing much as I agree that most people will use the Blue Streak Midway to get to Valravn.
