Good to see according to the new park map.
Looks like a 3 point shoot out and something else...
Still interested to see what comes out of the pirate ride building. If it is still sitting there with some strange pirate theme it will look hideously out of place with a new fresh midway.
I think a fountain, particularly the ball fountain that CP used to have would look great on the midway.
...Wheres the new map?
EDIT: Found it! Here you guys go since it wasn't posted above
Wow, nice eye. I didn't even see that, and I thought I studied the map pretty well. The game next to the 3 point shootout, to me, looks like one of those climbing challenge games.

It would be nice to see that ball make a return as it was a favorite of mine. Sadly though unless they buy a new one it won't happen.
It was bought by Alabama Adventure in 2009 to replace their old interactive fountain.
I wonder who draws these maps. They've looked consistently the same- bright colors, rounded edges, proportions that are both exaggerated yet on a relatable scale- since I was a kid back in the 80's.
Proud 5th Liner and CP fan since 1986.
Yeah, those maps are quirky. I notice a yellow caboose on CPLE RR, also I see the "Leaning Tower of Power". I wish Wicked Twister still went that high and I hope that parasail person clears Wind Seeker.
(I am not being critical, I think the map is great)

Agree with your statements on the old fountain but yet another 3 point shootout, not so much. If it were up to me, the one behind the arcade would be gone and replaced with a few nice flats; but I digress.
Yes, the maps. I look forward to seeing these come out every year but will be even more happy if the words "Gemini Arcade" (under Pipe Scream) are finally taken off of the 2016 version. It hasn't been there since 2013 and yet continues to be listed on each years map. It was replaced with the yogurt/ Coca Cola freestyle building. Someone please fix this. Sheesh.
They probably make good money on those 3-point games, otherwise they would be gone. And it would make sense to put one of those games in an area of the park that will be getting alot of attention.

I said it once and I'll say it again...I wish they would have put Tiki Twirl where the Wicked Twister midway 3 Point Challenge is.
I wish they would've kept Chaos, and as a bonus get rid of all three point challenges (or just stop giving out basketballs as prizes at any game).
New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus
That's one thing that annoys me about those basketball games. I hate when those that win them are dribbling their basketballs down the midway and in the queues.

Ah, but that has been around for years. Decades, really.
Back in the 90's the mini-basketballs were everywhere, thanks to a game in which all one had to do was sink a free-throw (of sorts) to win a ball of your choice.
Every time you hear a basketball bounce, a new roller coaster is one dollar closer to being built.

Chaos was a mechanical mess and stuck around way longer than it should have. I will say, the Three Point Challenge games do bring in some good money though. But those basketball are super annoying. I personally feel that the basketballs should be deflated and given as prizes that way.
I was thinking they would should give winners a coupon and they take it to a prize redemption center or gift shop up near the front of the park so they can get them on the way out. That wouldn't stop anyone from picking up their prize then carrying it around the rest of the day, but it would probably significantly reduce the amount of annoying basketballs. Then if they forget or lose their coupon, they still made their money on the game.
