Freeway Stamps-1 per day-Fair or Unfair?

If the policy were one stamp per ride per day, then were would they put all the stamps if you wanted to ride them all? You'd have stamps all over your body. Oh, and don't foget the stamp to get back into the park if you leave there's another! It's stamp-crazy!

This is exactly why I belive that even though I have to pay for it, Q-bot is so much better. Regardelss from what I have heard of Disney's and Universal's free systems that is the real way to go.

I think freeway is a work in progress and eventually we may see a Disney or Universal type system.

Heck I would even be willing to pay for a Lo Q type system but I don't think CP wants to go down that rout with their very proclaimed Free system.

I know I will never go to another 6 flags without getting a Q Bot. Not because lines are long but because it's so darn conveinent and user friendly and I can use it as many times as I want.

The FreeWay is still in its early stage of use. I bet that we will see more improvments with time! I would like it if they used a wristband system instead of the current stamp. That is if they want to keep it somewhat simple:)

I had a stamp, but it washed off at the water park?.........."Right!"

I think if would be better if they handed out tickets instead of stamping. You give out so many tickets for time slot. You can have different colors for different days.. Red one day, blue another. Instead of them giving a VOID stamp, they could just take the tickets.

I personly find the system decent for crowded days; however, on most days, it's pointless.

Chocolate is chocolate, but liquor is quicker.

I think CP is staying away from tickets for several reasons

1) There would be no way to prevent someone from getting more then one ticket, either for the same ride or a different ride.

2) Someone might be tempted to sell their ticket

3) Litter

While I don't enjoy washing all of the ink off of my hand, I think the system works and is fair.

I've gotten freeway stamps and the void stamp was really light. I could have rubbed it off but I was afraid that the stamp guy would recognise me.

I used to think that too, but the people either stamping or letting people in the freeway line see hundreds of people walk through the line a day. I think there is a slim chance of getting caught. If you completely rub off the void stamp, they have no choice but to let you through. Carry a few wet-wipes with you. Don't get too greedy though, only do it once or twice.

We do see hundreds of people a day but its not to hard to not remember a face within an hour. And if the person at entrance lets you in, then you still have to get past the person thats stamping your hand at Fight Zone. And we don't "have" to let you through, if we have reason to think that you have already gone through within that hour, then we are alowed to turn you away.

There are 24 hours in a day, and 24 beers in a case. Coincidence?

I like the current freeway system. When they had ticket to ride, where they handed out tickets, I saw many people get one ticket, then head back to the line to receive another one. With the stamps, you don't have the early birds getting more than one ticket, leaving others in the lurch so to speak.

We purchased the Q-bot, or whatever they call it at SFGAm. The rides available changed daily, and we used 3 of our 4 rides on Raging Bull. The fast lane line for RB was a 45 minute wait on our last ride.

Although both systems worked well, I prefer the free system offered at CP. Of course, I'm a JCC member as well, so last season I was able to get two or three rides on MF before the lines got long, and then got a freeway stamp for later in the day.

I never got a pass for WT or Raptor, because in the afternoon lines for both were relatively short on the days we went.

To me, the JCC along with the season pass is the ultimate system. I can choose to ride Dragster with a smaller wait early in the morning, and then get my freeway stamp for MF later on.

The "stamp" crazy Cedar Point gets really interesting when the fundamentalists come in and insist that our stamps are the "mark of the beast," and refuse to have any stamps!

When it comes to taking the ink off your hand, take a couple of the shampoo bottles from your hotel and clean them out. Go to Auto Zone or Advance and get some Gojo hand cleaner. It's the kind in the orange container. Fill the bottles with it. We got 1 MF stamp and 2 WT on one day and the same the next day.
It all comes back to the fact that the system works. And it's free.. so there really isn't anyroom to complain.

At least they're not juicing more cash out of season pass holders and general public PER VISIT like some ofther chains do.

Vanessa, you've actually had people refused to get stamped for religious reasons?

When it comes to taking the ink off your hand...
One thing to consider: if enough people abuse the system, Cedar Point is likely to cancel it altogether. Don't kill the goose.

Great, now in addition to everyone being hot and sweaty, they are going to smell like auto mechanics too! C'mon - there has to be some point you ask yourself, "is it worth it?"

Hearing that people actually bother doing this stuff makes me wonder about adding Freeway to so many rides. I suppose it is good in that more people will get to use it, but it will also lead to more abuse.

Sure, the MF and Dragster stamps will run out by noon almost everyday so the chances of multipe stamps for those rides is minimal, but the stamps at Magnum, WT, and Raptor will probably not all be given out early in the day so this will allow people to get a stamp for MF or Dragster, ride, wash it off with whatever, then go get another stamp for Magnum, WT or Raptor. Heck, I remember seeing WT stamps still available late in the afternoon a couple times last season and that was when they only had three rides in the program.

But then again, if the rides have no line anyway and people are cheating the system and still waiting the same amount of time as the people who don't cheat, who the heck cares!? :)

Not only that, but if you can get two Freeway stamps in the same day for the same ride, it's obviously not that busy in the first place!

DELETED!

I did what I did during my second trip to CP. I guess I just find it fun to try to get around stuff like that. Well, that and I'm impatient. But on that second trip, there was a group of guys in front of me playing queue line euchre and now I know of a way to pass my time in line without being a grumpy a-hole.

One of you can bring a ruler to coastermania and smack my knuckles for being Freeway abuser. I promise I won't do it again.

P.S.- The gojo had a similiar smell to the re-entry stamp ink.

Yes I have had several families not get stamps because it is the "mark of the beast." The same people also will not get stamps to re-enter the park. Park officials have made special provisions for those people, but if you're going to ride with freeway, ya gotta suck it up and get the stamp.

I know for a fact that when MF had the tickets a year ago that some people got 2 and 3 tickets for the same day......the stamp works much better we used them last year.
I don't think the real "Mark of the Beast" will be just a plain hand stamp. I believe it will be a computer chip install either in the hand or forehead. Those people who refuses to used the Freeway system are stupid if they use the "Mark of the Beast" excuse but than the more of those idiots there are the less people competing against me for Freeway when I want to ride Dragster!
Ha ha! Great point Kevin!
