The free tickets are for family and friends. No because you are an employee you do get in to the park, and waterpark for free.

Thanks, because the only reason I wanted to work at Cedar Point was because I could go to the park anytime I want. And when I heard we only get 4 tickets, that scared the crap out of me. :)
Okay if that is the only reason that you want to work at CP is so you can go there whenever you want and to get in free to the park, then you should not be working there.

I agree Stephen, that is pretty much a slap in the face too all of us who work hard in the park.

As a side note, you also get into all other cedar fair parks too you just have to pay parking for those. You need a reality check that while you do have the chance to go to the park whenever, you work so hard that you at times try to avoid the park. Me, I spent all my time at Soak City.

LOL I worked for Disney in the College Program last semester and the whole time I was just thinking... "You know, this isn't nearly as fun as working at Cedar Point!" It's not where I was working, either - I worked at Rockin' Rollercoaster. Disney, being the evil global gymungous corporation that it is, can afford to give their cast members up to 18 free park hoppers a year. Never in a million years would I say that CP "doesn't treat me well in any aspect."
No Way! I was a CP at Coaster, but in 2004. I heard the new que set-up made it A LOT less fun to work. We always had a blast with the old set-up. Ah, how I miss coaster.

We all have our own reasons for wanting to work at CP and if his is to be there all the time then let it be. Don't tell him that he should not be working there.
It seems as though this is his first year and if he is excited in any way about working there don't "rain on his parade".
All the returners are excited for there own reasons but just remember that you were once this guy that decided to work at CP for whatever reason...think about that.

I hope I didn't offend anyone because I meant that as a joke.
I have been going to Cedar Point since I was three years old and love the place. I want to work there just to get a sense of how things are done.
And if I did offend anyone, I am sorry.
:)
And Bootz, you said that it is a slap in the face for those who work hard. What makes you think that I wont be working hard. Just because I said I want to go have fun (ON MY OFF TIME).
You know one of the main reasons I did work there was to get in free and be able to live by the park, and what better job to have than the entrance? :) Oh and I did work hard, really. Just maybe not as hard as ride ops ;)

Oh dear...here we go! Please lets not start something...
I could say something about this, but im not..not my place...I love my job, I love Cedar Point...and to be honest...I could care less if we get free tickets or not...andddd, thats not my reason for staying and working there; nor was it ever....but yeah, we all have our own opinion.

Hey, yeah I worked at Coaster in the College Program for Fall '07, and while it was fun, from what the full-timers told me, it used to be a lot more fun. Having never visited WDW before my College Program, I have no idea what the setup used to be like over at Coaster. I know there wasn't a single rider line (don't even get me started on how much I hated that single rider line... it's so badly designed and causes a rediculous amount of confusion and guest situations at load, ugh...) Then to add insult to injury, we were all forced to tell every guest to "push up on your harness" a month or so after I got there. We weren't allowed to touch their harness - they had to do it themselves which slowed dispatch timesWAAAAAAYY down.
Like I said, working at Coaster was super fun, but there were a few things that I really missed that I had grown accustomed to at CP. First, I absolutely love speiling. It's my favorite part of my job - especailly at Magnum... I can have so much fun speiling at that coaster it's ridiculous, and I can make up my own stuff rather than having to more or less follow a script . No speiling at Coaster aside from a short entry/exit speil in the preshow room and a short exit speil at unload. Second, I really don't care for the type of person that visits WDW. They expect everyting to go a bit too perfectly and expect more than their fair share of compensation when they are inconvenienced. CP guests are much more understanding about small inconveniences such as ride downtime and the like. I can completely understand why guests at WDW expect everything to go so perfectly... if I was paying that much to visit, I would too! But that doesn't make it any more enjoyable to work there LOL. Lastly, add the fact that half of everyone who visits WDW does not speak English as their primary language, and you have a whole new world of frustrations that don't really exist while working at CP.
On the other hand, when working at WDW, you're entitled to overtime pay and as many hours per week that you can stand, and they have a management team that truly cares about you, so take your pick :)
Who knows, I may go back for another College Program after I finish college :)

Geeez ONLY 4 tickets!
That is NOT enough...
I'm pissed, I'm quitting...
...and scene!
*I don't even need 4 tickets but it is nice to get, I'm just glad to work at such an amazing place. Stop being so greedy! Geeesh!*

Yeah, I was living in Orlando when they made the "transition". That single-rider line was absolutely horrible. The entire que actually looked like a complete mess. Not sure if you know what the old set-up was like, but the person in Studio B actually had time to spiel. The standby/fastpass merge point was also in the parking garage. Our grouping process was a little different too. On busy days, we had the Alley-Cat position and even the position where we were actually in the recording studio during the pre-show. Again, not sure what's changed over the last 4 years, but fire code only allowed parties of 80 peeps at a time, but on fast days, we were doing parties of 100-120 and getting away with it. EASY. Gawd, the fun coaster stories i have....
btw, I have a bone to pick with the current coaster people. I went to orlando for spring break and figured I'd take a quick trip on coaster. Well, do they NOT know about the unwritten coaster alumni rule? All coaster alumni get automatic back-door access! They were totally clueless when I mentioned it!

Haha I'd have let you through! Wow... shows of 120?! With all the new "improvements" our average show size was more like... 60-70. What a disaster... We'll have to get together this summer and talk more Coaster :)
