Forbidden Frontier

I'm imagining listening to one of the story actors explaining their backstory in intricate detail while you have to ask them to repeat it three times because of the WOOOSH of MF trains flying around.

A few days ago I saw a commercial for FF. It was a pre-video ad on YouTube. It actually showed some characters in action (not that it revealed anything new).

What’s interesting in this ‘update’ is the farm animals in the renderings along the routes.
Wondering if the Petting Farm will be incorporated in FF, which also leads to a question of Hours of Operation which the animals went to bed earlier in the day.

These renderings truly look like the park built an entire new land! Too bad there weren’t a few flats included...

The potential is still there, I bet, for a few years down the road. They would probably want to test the popularity of the new attraction and see what foot traffic is like back there. I don't see why they couldn't incorporate some small flats in that area to attract even more people in the future.

No.

Seriously, just... no.

The park has a ton of flat rides, a huge selection of roller coasters... this attraction provides some needed variety.

I would also assume that area of the park lacks the electrical infrastructure needed to install rides out there and since it's on an island, running that out there would likely be challenging and costly.

^Seeing how StR used to be out there, there’s definitely power. And if there wasn’t, it’s a manmade lagoon we’re talking about, not the Mississippi.

That said, I agree with DJ; that island is the perfect location for non-ride attractions, and I think they’re doing exactly what they should with it.

At first I have always thought the island would be the perfect place for more rides. But I am starting to see that the non ride attraction of this area is more suitable for the fun of families.

And we all know that 90% of pointbuzzers won't stop complaining about the lack of family attractions.

I am so upset that there aren't more family attractions...

...and a 5,000 foot tall GCI/RMC collaboration woodie coaster that runs out over the bay and pretzels over downtown Sandusky that gives you free volkswagon sized hot dogs while you ride it and a free vat of cola on exit.

Oh, and only eleven people are allowed into the park while I am in there...

Watching the live stream Cleveland (news?) posted on media day today, I have once concern based on it so far, I hope there is more than one story line, or it is going to wear out fast. But I'm assuming they are just doing on bit for the opening and then going from there.

Actors look like they are doing a lot better than I'd expect from CP though!

As a parent this looks like a huge win. A little concerned about height requirement for the playground. I’d still like a dark ride, but in many ways this seems to be exactly what the park needed. It’s very innovative and different. I like how we essentially have a new land to explore.

The food looks great, and I definitely see myself sitting in those chairs eating some shrimp while my kids play on “higher ground”.

Not gonna lie... I saw the slides in the play area from Millennium Force, and they look pretty fun.

I heard something about a height restriction for the playgrounds. What is it?

Here is the official backstory followed by a link to the video that I filmed during the preview on Wednesday.

The two clans of Adventure Island, the Wapis and the Cayugas, have spent years being consumed with greed, fear and distrust. Since the infamous melee that resulted in dissecting the treasure map, the tribes remained as split as the map itself. Peace on the island disintegrated. Camps were looted, friendships were broken, chaos ruled the day. Word spread to the mainland and cavalry officer Etta Fox was assigned to mediate the conflict. After much effort, Fox created truce between the two clans through communication, good will and cookies. She also confiscated both pieces of the treasure map, stitched the map up, and hit it away in a lockbox with the understanding that after 5 years of a successful truce, the map could be resurrected. With each passing year, the truce got a foothold, tensions eased, and life went back to normal on Adventure Island. And now the island celebrates a full 5 years of peace with its 1st Annual Truce Day Celebration.

On this day, "Truce Day," guests meet the islands various residents and assist them with tasks. Upon completion, the guest is invited to join one of the two clans and therefore participate in the competitions which take place at the "Middle Ground" throughout the day. The winner of each competition receives a point and then at 6:00 p.m., the winning clan is declared, their flag raised, and said clan receives the treasure map.
