Thanks for the map pic, Walt.

This third piece is revealing even more than I anticipated, and we still have one more to go.

My 7-year old's reaction...

"So Cedar Point is building a whole island that me and Kylah (her big sis) can plan on with you guys?"

There's your commercial.

My playground!!!! My kids playing and wearing themselves out, a few beers with the wife = perfection!!! I’ve been waiting for this!

There is much detail on that drawing/map, but I am eager to see it in person and see the additional detailing that can't be put on a teaser drawing. For example, wonder how many "retired" props from years gone by that will find a place there, perhaps some from Paddlewheel Excursions.

Interesting that at four points across the water there are names & icons of the various land tracts. Mantis errrrr Sitnam Point with the paw print, Fort Sandusky with the fire, the mountain range with the binoculars, and the pick axes for Cedar Creek. The map doesn't show access to those areas at this point. Looks like boat docks at Sitnam Point.

In another thread some are asking for an observation tower at CP, well there it is, a mountain range. Where is the designated smoking/vaping area located? sorry

While my kids are past the age for this sort of thing, it did make me remember back many years to the old Peanut's Playground that used to be where Planet Snoopy is now. It was a typical playground that you can find almost anywhere. The only thing that was "special" about it was that it had a miniature train that went around it. My oldest would want to spend hours there. It used to drive me nuts and even my happy-go-lucky wife finally put her foot down and said that if he wanted to play on a swing set we would simply stay home and go to the neighborhood playground; we didn't spend all of this money and drive 2 hours to have him go down a slide. I suspect that we were not the only frustrated parents there as I can vividly remember the looks on their faces as they rode around in that tiny train that was certainly not meant to hold grown-ups.

At least FF sounds more entertaining than a swing or a slide. Today's parents have it so much better!

The map I posted earlier has been updated with the final piece.

Jason Hammond (thanks, Jason!) used satellite imagery to trace the path of Millennium Force on the island.

That’s pretty cool to see the whole island being utilized for this attraction. I’m excited for it.

Today's webcam #2 provides a better view of the clearing the park did on Millennium Island for Forbidden Frontier. One of the podcasts I listen to wondered whether Forbidden Frontier might be the first step in the park's development of a new midway on the island. That seemed like a plausible idea to me. What do you think? Is it possible the park will develop a new midway on the island? Likely?

I’m slowly getting into podcasts. If you don’t mind, what podcasts are there that talk heavily about CP and the amusement industry?

TwistedWicker77 the In the Loop Podcast was the one I was listening to in which they speculated about Cedar Point converting the island into its next midway. As far as podcasts go, it's not one I recommend, however. They don't seem to put much effort into the podcast and it's not very well done. I generally only listen to it when I've run out of other podcasts and traffic is bad on my commute home. The one amusement related podcast that I listen to religiously every week is Coasterradio.com - I recommend listening to that podcast, if you don't already.

CoasterRadio would be a good start for the industry itself. As for podcasts talking about CP specifically, I am not aware of any (at least ones that are easily accessible).

Thank you guys for the tips. I’m going to check them out

FF sounds like an absolute blast. I can't wait to give this a try!
(I also can't wait to see if I can give this a try without huffing, puffing, and otherwise embarrassing myself. :P )

I am excited about this new addition, but I am ready for a little more detail as to what it is. I understand the secrecy to build anticipation and curiosity, but we also need a little bit more to go on than just a couple of puzzle pieces.

Is there a sit down restaurant over there? What's on the menu?

What is the water contraption?

Is it a playground?

Is it a zipline?

It's like they've built a new roller coaster without announcing any of the stats. I get that's the point, but aside from us die-hard enthusiasts, I'm not sure they've marketed it to the point where they've really sparked much interest, and it sounds like there's a fair amount of capital that has been invested.

I agree with this. I feel their missing the boat on what I would think is the main target audience.

One question that immediately comes to mind for me: are they afraid they won't finish everything they have planned in time and don't want to over promise?

There's plenty of time to explain everything. All it will take is a couple blog posts and a press package and all the details will be known to everyone. Patience.

Plus, I kinda like not knowing all the hard details. It's not that much of a grand, mysterious adventure if you know exactly what sort of thing you're going to run into. Surprise me!
