Though I gotta say that I notice much fewer people *****ing about their jobs from Rides. Though the ones that DO *****ing just won't shut the **** up sometimes. But they're usually fired quickly anyways.

PS: Are you planning on any MiA trips this summer? I hope to get back to The Point in the next several weeks and will stop by and say "hi".

Ohio State, here I come!

It doesn't seem like Cedar Point employees like their jobs. I mean we joke about how you guys look like you want to commit suicide, but that may be because it still is work. I want to work at Cedar Point but when the vast majority look so unhappy, I don't want to.------------------

Are you sure that they aren't just tired? Or, maybe, bored with what they are doing for that day? Twelve hours of sweeping, and walking on the concrete tends to start hurting your feet toward the end of the day. I know mine start hurting at around 6 or 7 o'clock. And I'm there to have fun. It's gotta be twice as bad when you don't get to have too much fun. Although, your job is only as monotonous as you make it, right?

If I win the lottery, I promise not to quit my job. Although, it may not take very long for me to be fired.

I love Cedar Point, and I am looking forward to coming back.

-First year-
Last year, I worked O-C's (some on midnight closings) and at the end of the night, I was tired and ready to go home, but I put in a good day's work and I had a good time. This year, I work a 1:30 to 8, and when 8 rolls around, I'm at my breaking point and I gotta get outta there.
Last year, we received compliments from leadership, compliments from supervision, and compliments from guests. This season, we receive nothing from leadership, by-the-book no-fun all-work mentality from supervision, and we get all these letters about how employees are being rude to them.
I still like my job at Cedar Point. I would love to make a career out of it, and I take pride in the fact that I am employed here. I simply think things aren't being done as effectively as last season. I mean, I can't speak for EVERYONE (and don't intend to) but our hours are at an all-time low, our daily memos from supervision are littered with references to angry guests, employee rudeness, etc...MORALE IS LOW.
I want to use this as a forum to say that last year, I had the best summer of my life working at Cedar Point. We worked as a team, we were proud of our rides, our crews, our reputation as a park with WORLD CLASS SERVICE. For an employee to live up to those expectations, the morale has to improve. The management should pass down compliments as well as complaints. The supervision should remember that all rules should be enforced on a case-by-case basis and that their number one goal is to make sure everything is running SMOOTH AND EFFICIENT, not HARDLINE PERFECT BY THE BOOK. And employees need to realize that we all work on the same team.
I like my crew. And any one of them can tell you that I absolutely CLASHED with one girl when she started at the ride...and I was a big stupid jerk that day and she and I just got off on the wrong foot...but I get along great with her now. I get along with the crew, we get along with each other, but when it comes to the procedures and operation of the ride, it's a big conspiracy to everyone.
I know that I have had yesterday and today off, and I feel better than I have in a couple of months. I think that I'm going to work even harder on making the job better this week, and I only hope that some random member of supervision or management takes a look at this and realizes it is merely CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM not of any person, but of the overall feeling of working for the park this season. Justin and I remember last season at the Screw, and I'm not speaking for him, but I THINK he might agree that last season, everyone was happier...and that happiness reflects onto the guests as well. It generates compliments and stops complaints. It's all in the morale.
And it's all in how each situation is handled, from my interaction with a guest at entrance, to the TL's cooperation with his/her crew on making the schedule, to supervision's action when there are issues among a crew...and on up from there. Let's remember that when someone jumps a rail, you don't send them all the way back to the entrance sign and make them walk down again...and EVERY rule should be enforced AS NECESSARY for safety, efficiency, appearance, and MORALE.
Let's turn things around.
OK, I'm finished.

I am not an employee of Cedar Point, never was....... but I have been going to CP every year since I was 17 at least once a year.
All the people that work at CP are awesome... The announcers on the rides are funny most of the time. I can see how saying the same speel all the time can be dull... but you all pull it off great! Staff I have run into are friendly, kind, and willing to help.
Kudos to all of you..... You are the spirit of CP, and you all together make it an awesome experience for everyone.... even if it's bad news.
