Food Service

As I wait Patiently for my call
can anyone tell me when calls or emails usually start going out for the food service department?

its been reviewed by 4 ppl so far. Shannon, samantha, alex and steve. i just got a note back from steve saying they werent hiring anymore but im not sure if thats for every food service or just his specific place. I think im not going to get hired. im a first year and dont have much experience. good luck to you. hope you hear good news soon.

How long ago did you apply? If your application has been under review by a hiring manager, I'd wait two weeks and send them an e-mail (if you click on their name it will allow you contact them) asking if them when you could expect a response. I do know that Foods has a lot of people to hire, so it may be end of march before you hear a response.

Hang in there. They usually interview or send you an email. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

PS....be polite and very professional.

I submitted mine at the very beginning of january and at least on the site it says it hasnt been reviewed by anyone yet? I was told sometimes the status doesnt change but someone has looked at it idk how true this was?

So just wait till march then?

Foods didn't start hiring till what seemed like the last week of January.

How do you get their emails? When i click on the name it says a primary email hasnt been set up. I also heard that they were hiring past employees first so if your new it may take a little time

In that case, they have not set up the hiring system to link to their e-mail.

I just got my call today From Sam Charles in food services
I have an interview for next Wednesday for 2.

Anyone else who gets calls in food service post something

If you do get hired, make sure to smile and be friendly to Sammy! She's awesome, and I guess still working the foods office! It's people like her that make me miss the place from time to time!

Do they tell you after the interview if you have been hired or not? I will make sure I do that I'm always smiling haha. I guess so. Whats your name Ill tell her you said hey if i get hired.

congrats. I just got some news about interviews in toledo so i am hopeful. Plus steve posted they are hiring in all positions. Is this your first year applying? Do you live in the sandusky area?

Usually you can tell by the way they talk to you. If they start talking about a location you'd be working in...take that as yes. Nothing is set in stone till you get the job offer via jobs.cedarpoint.com.

are they doing all interviews in person now? Just got a call about an interview next friday or saturday but i have to go to sandusky to do it. Happy i gotta call but i have no idea how im going to get there for one day. Anyone do an interview by phone?

Where are you from? Do you know who reviewed your app and who your interview is with? I would ask if you could do a phone interview if that is your only option.

Im from cleveland but in toledo for school. A woman, Reda Kanowski (im certain this is spelled wrong but this is what it sounded like she said), she called me and asked if i was free to come down one of those days. I asked if she had any other days and she said as of now, no. I asked if I could do the interview any other way and she said they were just doing in person interviews now. Cedar point seemed like a nice opportunity but im going to have to focus on getting hired elsewhere. hopefully i'll be up there next summer!! : D

I applied for a job as a dishwasher for the 2011 season. I have not had an interview yet, but Sam Charles e-mailed me so that we could work out a time. Can anyone tell me what being a dishwasher is like? Is it a good job?

Essentially, dishwashers wash dishes. Sometimes depending on your location you'll do other miscellaneous tasks. I was never a dishwasher so I can't tell you what it's like. I have washed dishes at my location though, it's not bad. Then again I wasn't doing it everyday.
