I had to think about this for a while, before realizing my answer was super-obvious. (Forgive the ramble that is guaranteed to ensue in the rest of this post.)
I went this past June (on a Saturday nonetheless, ugh) with my brother (early 20s) and my two cousins, then-9 & 10. My cousins were visiting from FL and I'd promised them a trip to the Point, but had forgotten that my brother and I had talked about him coming, too. I ended up having to rearrange the schedule to include him, but that was ok.
The important thing about this, for me, is that my brother and I are not close *at all.* We're as different as night and day, and in all honesty, he's not a person I'd choose as a friend were we not related. As a general rule, he's unpleasant to be around, rude (and unapologetic about it,) makes poor choices, etc. He and I went to CP together a couple of years ago and literally did not talk the entire day, save about where to park, which ride to ride, etc. Very bizarre experience standing in line next to your sibling for MF for an hour, and not saying two words, but I digress.
We left my parents' fairly early that morning -- not as early as I would've liked, but that's ok -- cousins and tickets in hand. My brother spoke -- pleasantly, and kindly -- on the drive, in the park, in the lines, on the rides... it was literally the most enjoyable time I've had with him since we were probably 7 & 10. Of course I had a great time with my cousins, too (save the fact that the 9yo was 53.75" in shoes and whined about not being able to ride Raptor all day, until I threatened to leave if I heard about it again LOL,) but that was expected.
I think the highlight of our day was our ride on Maverick. Despite having a SP, I hadn't made it on the ride yet, but I did have the advantage of knowing about it ahead of time. Of course, that didn't stop me from screaming for a full minute and a half after we stopped moving, but I digress. The picture on this -- of my brother having a genuine *reaction*, not his usual "I-know-there's-a-camera-so-I'm-gonna-smirk," is priceless. (He's got the smirk in one picture, but the tunnel is full-out screaming. LOL. He was clueless about the second launch.) I bought the picture -- we're all four in it -- which is something I pretty much never do.
We traded off who rode with who -- sometimes resulting in a mini-battle, LOL -- and on the rare occasions the kids didn't want an adult sitting next to them, my brother took the advantage of distracting me up the lift hill. Engage me in a conversation (I'm quite the talker, in case the post length wasn't a clue,) I forget stop paying attention and next thing I know I'm falling, having completely forgotten that I'm on a roller coaster. Great reaction from me, and it brought him much glee.
Ah, a long-winded tale, but that day in general was one of the best I've had in a long, long time. Thanks for jogging my memory with this thread start, campfreak06. (Sorry to hear you didn't make it this year -- that's the way it is for me more often than not. This year was an odd anomoly.)
