One of mine had to be last train on Magnum last night with Josh. It went very well and we all got last train very effortlessly. We even got back seat. AND they sent us through twice. A great end to a great season.
I was just about to say this. Talk about perfect timing. :)
We were doing our typical Magnum-fest at the end of the night, when I decided I had time for just one more. Jen was tired and sat out, so I headed over on my own - my friends decided to hit up Gemini for their last ride. I saw Vince standing outside the entrance and figured I'd wait with him since there were 2 minutes until they closed the line.
When we got up there, I had already said I didn't want any part of the drama, but surprisingly, there was NONE. There were enough seats, so we jumped in the back and they announced that we were the last train of the year. Then, when we came back, they sent us again. Talk about an awesome end of the year.

It really was a matter of good timing. We got in line for Dragster at 7 and the sign said 45 minutes. When we were in the station and had one train wait in front of us the train pulled into the station with people already in the first 3 rows so we had to wait an extra set. By this time it was 7:45 so I was getting a little nervous because I really wanted to get to Magnum. My friends and I hurried there as soon as we got off and got one ride. Two of them and myself then ran around to the entrance while the other 2 just waited for us by the exit. I was happy to see they hadn't closed off the line yet, because according to my watch it was already 8:01. There was only a small gathering of people so it went well.

Riding every coaster (except woodstock and jr. gemini) in the front seat on closing day and then getting last ride on Millennium Force without having the usual last-ride drama in line/the station.
I guess it would have to be my first ride on Maverick. First rides are always cool, and I remember them all, back to my first ride on a major coaster, which was Hangman at Opryland USA in Nashville (sidenote: Hangman is now Kong at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Valejo, Ca). Maverick was different because I had followed its construction through this site and CP's website. The anticipation was incredible, and then after waiting through the rain all day (June 4) to get my first ride at night was awesome!

I didn't feel like starting a new thread just to post my Closing Day pics, so this seemed like a good place to put them.

As generic as this may sound, 2007 was my 1st Halloweekend. I LOVED it. That is my fondest memory. The atmosphere in the park during Halloweekends.
R.I.P. MrScott... You're greatly missed!!
I have another Dragster memory to add. Getting the last train of the season.:)

That sunset pic is a great one JH. It reminded me of two of my favorite pics I took back in late June. Hopefully I can get the links to work:

The rest of the day was wonderful, including the Magnum ERT where my fiancee and I got 17 rides without getting off the train. (actually she had 13 - She sat a few out).

I have another 2007 memory: When I told my sister (9yrs old) that Disaster Transport was still open. It was halloweekends so it was really that Pharo walk through thing. She came out balling her eyes out! It scared her to death! Nothing better than tricking your sister and making her cry!

This may seem a little odd, but some employee said that a few years ago his fondest memory was when he was in the parking lot or someplace and a bunch of people chased him in down the walkway, and they attacked him or some crazy thing like that. But that's what I remember, and he posted it in the "employee lounge thread" in " favorite employee memories"
I just say what ever floats his boat...
^^It was a Friday. I know its open on Halloweekends because the sign was out that points down to the right of the building. It was closed off though. I think they didnt have enough workers. So anyways it wasnt open that day but my sister soon found that out.

Just found the thread....it was actually a traffic guy near the tollbooths who almost got hit by a carload of kids who did something to him when they were leaving the park. I still don't know why he liked the moment, I mean, that's a dangerous situation....
There's been so many good memories this summer. To name one, closing day was amazing. I was lucky to get my second rollback ^_^ That was my goal for the day. Yeah, my boyfriends second ride on the dragster was a rollback, lucky him. Later on near closing i made a new enthusiast friend, and finished the night off with very last ride of the season on TTD. Best closing day so far.

^ Ha; that brings a memory. On the same friday that I was talking about above I ran to Magnum when I got to the park to do my Joe Cool ERT. The line was closed off and some jerk (I think he probably is on this site so if im talkin about you sorry) was sitting in the ride op's chair. I asked him what was wrong with Maggie and he said nothing. Then I said "then why is it marked off"? He said because its not open yet. Then I said it should be for JC ERT and he said its never open for ERT. Then I told him I was there 2 weeks before that day and said I got 8 rides for ERT. He then called me an idiot for thinking Maggie should be open for ERT.
Sorry that was long I had to say that.
Isnt Maggie open for ERT? It was last time I went.
Let's Get Weird.
^Its not open for morning ERT. Im talking about the Joe Cool Night they had in August when it was an ERT night (thats right night rides even better) so few people showed up, and they had 3 trains running that they let us marathon the sucker. What a glorious, glorious night that was.
